    摘要: A dual-purpose engine fitting is provided that may be used both during engine testing and during engine use, for vehicles with vacuum assisted brakes and for those without. The fitting has a body portion configured to fit within an opening in the manifold and defining a passage having opposing first and second ends. The fitting has a seal portion enclosing the first end of the passage. The second end of the passage is open to the manifold when the body portion is fit within the manifold. A thinned wall joins the body portion and the seal portion, establishing a predetermined fracture region at which the seal portion will separate from the body portion when sufficient torque is applied to the seal portion to thereby open the first end of the passage. A method of assembling vehicles is also provided.

    摘要: A fuel system for use on an internal combustion engine has a fuel metering body which defines a fuel plenum therein. The plenum has an inlet for pressurized fuel, a pressure regulator, and a fuel outlet. Disposed within the fuel plenum, in fluid communication with one another, the inlet and the outlet, are a plurality of fuel injectors. The fuel injectors have outlets which extend through the fuel meter body and deliver fuel to the intake ports of the associated engine through flexible fuel lines terminated by pressure pulse activated poppet nozzles providing a significant degree of application flexibility. The fuel meter body mounts within the intake manifold such that fuel and electrical connections extend out of the manifold for simplified source attachment.

    摘要: In a throttle body fuel injection assembly, the rotor of a throttle position sensor is mounted directly on the throttle shaft and the sensor housing is supported on the rotor, thereby providing a compact sensor construction. A spring in the sensor tends to impart relative rotation between the rotor and the housing, biasing the housing toward engagement with the throttle body. With this invention, the housing rotates with the rotor away from engagement with the throttle body if the spring does not impart relative rotation between the housing and the rotor.

The valve bodies are integrally formed in the wall of the intake manifold. The cams are arranged on the shaft to provide optimum synchronized opening and closing of the related valves. When used on a diesel engine, the manifold assembly may further include a swirl valve plate disposed between the manifold and the engine head and having a plurality of ganged swirl valves actuated by levers, connected to the camshaft internally of the manifold and swirl plate, for coordinated motion with the MVR and EGR valves.
