Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for cross-polarization-based object detection and classification. One example includes a system implemented for cross-polarization-based object detection and classification. The system includes a first transmitter antenna configured for radiating a first millimeter wave electromagnetic signal, where the first millimeter wave electromagnetic signal including a first polarization. The system further includes a first receiver antenna configured for receiving a second millimeter wave electromagnetic signal, the second millimeter wave electromagnetic signal including a second polarization. The system further includes a processing circuitry configured to detect an object based at least in part on the second millimeter wave electromagnetic signal, the object being impacted by the first millimeter wave electromagnetic signal to cause the second millimeter wave electromagnetic signal to reflect off the object.

Abstract: An electronic device may have multiple near-field communications antennas. Multiplexer circuitry may have a transceiver port that is coupled to a near-field communications transceiver, and multiple antenna ports coupled to respective near-field communications antennas. Non-near-field communications antennas may be used by non-near-field communications circuitry. The electronic device may have a housing with opposing first and second ends and a display. One of the near-field communications antennas and one of the non-near-field communications antenna may be formed from shared antenna structures at the first end. Another of the near-field communications antennas and another of the non-near-field communications antennas may be formed from shared antenna structures at the second end. An additional near field communications antenna may be overlapped by the display.

Abstract: This application relates to systems, methods, and apparatus for using a computing device to perform payment transactions while the computing device is operating in a low power wallet mode during a low battery state of the computing device. During a low power wallet mode, various subsystems are prevented from receiving current from a battery of the computing device, while a near field communication (NFC) system of the computing device is provided with an operating current for detecting target systems. A target system and the NFC system can communicate during the low power wallet mode of the computing device, thereby allowing a user of the computing device to conduct payment transactions when the computing device is in a low power wallet mode. Such payment transactions can be useful if the user is ever stranded without enough power to fully operate the computing device and needs to pay for transportation.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for coordinated channel state information reporting in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish a wireless link with a cellular base station. The wireless device may determine to coordinate channel state information reporting with another wireless device. Information may be exchanged with the other wireless device via a sidelink wireless link. The wireless device may provide channel state information to the cellular base station. The channel state information may be determined based at least in part on the information exchanged with the other wireless device via the sidelink wireless link.
