Abstract:
The present invention provides a humanised form of the antibody 340 obtainable from the cell line deposited with the ECACC under accession number 97021428. Such antibodies have been found to have an increased ability to kill cells compared to the murine antibody 340. Also provided are nucleic acids encoding such antibodies, as well as the use of the antibodies in medicine, in particular in the treatment of cancer.
Abstract:
Disclosed are, inter alia, methods, apparatus, data structures, computer-readable media, mechanisms, and means for establishing a call across a network. For example, the network may include a first edge switch, a second edge switch, and an ATM core network coupled to the first and the second edge switches and configured to allow the second edge switch to communicate with the first edge switch. The second edge switch, being responsive to a received Q.2630.1 AAL2 message, is configured to send a first Private Network-Network Interface (PNNI) setup message to the first edge switch as part of establishing a call between or through one or more of the first and the second edge switches.
Abstract:
The cloning of a novel PCVII viral genome is described as is expression of proteins derived from the PCVII genome. These proteins can be used in vaccine compositions for the prevention and treatment of PCVII infections, as well as in diagnostic methods for determining the presence of PCVII infections in a vertebrate subject. Polynucleotides derived from the viral genome can be used as diagnostic primers and probes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to new porcine circovirus strains isolated from pulmonary or ganglionic samples obtained from farms affected by the post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS). It relates to purified preparations of these strains, conventional attenuated or inactivated vaccines, recombinant live vaccines, plasmid vaccines and subunit vaccines, as well as reagents and diagnostic methods. It also relates to the DNA fragments which can be used for the production of subunits in an in vitro expression vector or as sequences to be integrated into a virus or plasmid type in vivo expression vector.
Abstract:
A glass ionomer cement composition comprises poly(vinyl phosphonic acid) dissolved in its own mass of water; and (in treble the total mass of the solution) a powder, being glass or MgO or a cermet. The powder has to be deactivated so that the setting reaction with the acid is not too fast, and this is achieved either by a raised Si:Al ratio or by heat-treating.
Abstract:
A linear book comprising a transparent holder formed with two rectangular bodies extending between two semi-cylindrical end members housing spindles on which pages of the book in ribbon or roll form are wound and a similar transparent closure member hinged to one of the end members of the holder to enclose the ribbon or roll with knurled end caps on the end members engaging the spindles to draw the pages between the transparent bodies for display and clips on the closure member engaging sockets on the holder to fasten the closure member to the holder in the closed position.
Abstract:
Implementations of systems for controlling transportation spaces may include a routing module using a map of transportation spaces including a three-dimensional coordinate system of the transportation spaces, a planning module coupled to the routing module, a plurality of traffic sensors coupled with the routing module, and a pricing module coupled with the routing module.
Abstract:
A prepreg comprising a structural layer of packed unidirectional conductive fibres comprising thermosetting resin in the interstices, and a first outer layer of resin comprising thermosetting resin, and being essentially free of unidirectional conductive fibres, which when cured under elevated temperature, produces a cured composite material comprising a cured structural layer of packed unidirectional conductive fibres and a first outer layer of cured resin comprising unidirectional conductive fibres dispersed within.
Abstract:
A curable prepreg or semipreg material comprising a layer of fibers and a substantially non-flowable curable resin having a layer of porous sheet material on an outer surface, the material allows automatic lay-up of high fiber content prepregs or semiprepregs typically used in industrial applications such as wind turbine blades.
Abstract:
A prepreg comprising a single structural layer of electrically conductive unidirectional fibers and a first outer layer of curable resin substantially free of structural fibers, and optionally a second outer layer of curable resin substantially free of structural fibers, the sum of the thicknesses of the first and second outer resin layers at a given point having an average of at least 10 micrometers and varying over at least the range of from 50% to 120% of the average value, and wherein the first outer layer comprises electrically conductive particles.
