摘要: A droplet dispensing system for forming and dispensing droplets of a liquid sample is provided. The droplet dispensing system is fabricated on the tip of a dispensing pin. The tip of the dispensing pin includes a droplet ejection nozzle, a filling channel, a chamber and an actuator for ejecting droplets on demand. The system further includes a holder for mounting the dispensing pin. The holder also contains a control circuit for activating the actuator.

摘要: The invention provides a method of coating a substrate with first a layer of a chip resistant primer composition that has as a resinous portion a polyurethane polymer having a glass transition temperature of 0° C. or less and, optionally, a second component that has reactive functionality; and next with a layer of a thermosetting primer composition including a polyurethane polymer having a glass transition temperature of 0° C. or less, an acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature that is at least about 20° C. higher than the glass transition temperature of said polyurethane polymer, and a crosslinking component that is reactive with at least one of the polyurethane polymer and the acrylic polymer; and finally with at least one layer of a topcoat composition. The reactive functionality of the second component is reactive with at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of the polyurethane polymer of the chip resistant primer composition, the polyurethane polymer of the thermosetting primer composition, the acrylic polymer of the thermosetting primer composition, and combinations thereof.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of of coating electrically conductive substrates using cathodically depositable electrodip paints. The invention is notable in that the electrodip paints employed contain crosslinked polymer microparticles which can be prepared by reacting(A) a compound which contains on average more than 1.0 epoxide groups per molecule, or a mixture of such compounds, and(B) a compound which contains not only a group reactive toward epoxide groups but also at least one ketimine or aldimine group in the molecule, or a mixture of such compoundsto give a noncrosslinked intermediate product (C), which still contains on average at least one epoxide group per molecule, and dispersing this intermediate product in the presence of a Br onsted acid in an aqueous medium.

摘要: An optical system for acquiring fast spectra from spatially channel arrays includes a light source for producing a light beam that passes through the microfluidic chip or the channel to be monitored, one or more lenses or optical fibers for capturing the light from the light source after interaction with the particles or chemicals in the microfluidic channels, and one or more detectors. The detectors, which may include light amplifying elements, detect each light signal and transducer the light signal into an electronic signal. The electronic signals, each representing the intensity of an optical signal, pass from each detector to an electronic data acquisition system for analysis. The light amplifying element or elements may comprise an array of phototubes, a multianode phototube, or a multichannel plate based image intensifier coupled to an array of photodiode detectors.
