Abstract: A multi-function thermostat for a building includes a communication interface and a processing circuit. The communications interface is configured to communicate with an emergency server and receive occupant health data from one or more health sensors configured to monitor an occupant of the building. The processing circuit is configured to determine a health metric associated with the occupant based on the occupant health data and cause the communications interface to send a distress message to the emergency server when the health metric associated with the occupant indicates a medical emergency.

Abstract: A multi-function thermostat for a building includes a communications interface and a processing circuit. The communications interface is configured to communicate with building equipment and receive data from one or more sensors. The processing circuit is configured to control the building equipment to affect an environmental condition within a first zone of the building when an occupant is detected within the first zone based on the data received from the sensors. The processing circuit is further configured to detect movement of the occupant from the first zone of the building to a second zone of the building based on the data received from the sensors. The processing circuit is further configured to control the building equipment to affect an environmental condition within the second zone of the building when the occupant is detected within the second zone based on the data received from the sensors.

Abstract: An HVAC system within a building including an HVAC device having an air filter, a number of sensors, and a control device. The control device has a processor that is configured to determine a current air quality metric based on air quality measurements received by the sensor. The control device is further configured to calculate an average air quality metric based on the current air quality metric and a set of previous air quality metrics. The control device is further configured to store the average air quality metric. The control device is further configured to generate an air filter type recommendation based on the average air quality metric.

Abstract: A control device for a building management system (BMS) including a touch screen display configured to mount to a mounting surface, a communications interface configured to communicate with the BMS, a near field communication (NFC) sensor configured to receive information from a NFC device, a microphone configured to detect vocal input, and a processing circuit coupled to the touch screen display. The processing circuit including a processor and memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the control device to receive user input from at least one of the touch screen display, the NFC sensor, or the microphone, validate an identity of a user based on the user input, and cause the BMS to control an environmental variable of a space based on the validation.
