    摘要: A spark ignition fuel injection reciprocatory internal combustion engine with dual induction system has within a cylinder head a primary intake passage to direct air fuel mixture charge into a cylinder to swirl therein and a secondary intake passage to direct air charge into the cylinder in such a direction as to impede the swirling motion of the air fuel mixture charge, thereby to maintain the volumetric efficiency of the engine at a sufficiently high level. A fuel injector is so positioned as to discharge fuel into the primary intake passage. An air flow sensor is provided upstream of primary and secondary throttle valves to detect the total of flow of induction air fed to the engine so that fuel is discharged at a rate proportional to the total induction air flow. Under engine operating conditions when only the primary throttle valve opens, air fuel mixture charge will swirl at a sufficiently high rate as to enhance evaporation and dispersion of fuel droplets. Under engine operating conditions when both the primary and secondary throttle valves open, the air fuel mixture charge issuing from the primary intake passage is enriched and air charge from the secondary intake passage impedes swirling motion of enriched air fuel mixture charge from the primary intake passage to enhance evaporation and dispersion of fuel droplets.

    摘要: A spark ignition reciprocatory internal combustion engine with dual induction system is provided which has within a cylinder head a primary induction passage or a primary intake port passage to direct fluid charge into a cylinder to swirl therein and a secondary induction passage or a secondary intake port passage to direct fluid charge into the cylinder in such a direction as to impeded and reduce the swirling motion of the first fluid charge to provide a low "swirl ratio" within the cylinder, thereby to maintain the volumetric efficiency of the engine at a sufficiently high level. A primary throttle valve is provided to control the quantity of fluid charge entering into the primary induction passage and a secondary throttle valve is provided to control the quantity of fluid charge entering into the secondary induction passage. The secondary throttle valve is coordinated with the primary throttle valve so that the secondary throttle valve will remain closed until the primary throttle valve opens wider than a predetermined opening degree. Under engine operating conditions when only the primary throttle valve opens, fluid charge from the primary induction passage will swirl at a high "swirl ratio" in the range of 1.5 to 6, while, under engine operating conditions when both the primary and secondary throttle valves open, fluid charge from the secondary induction passage will impede swirling motion of fluid charge from the primary induction passage to provide a low "swirl ratio" in the range of 0.5 to 1 within the cylinder, and to maintain a high volumetric efficiency of the engine.

A valve permits auxiliary air-fuel mixture to flow into the main barrel through the air intake passageway when the vacuum in the intake manifold exceeds a certain value during deceleration of the vehicle.     摘要: Improvements are made in a reciprocating-piston, four-stroke spark-ignition internal combustion engine of the type which has main and auxiliary combustion chambers and main and auxiliary intake valve associated respectively with the combustion chambers, wherein the auxiliary intake valve has a valve lift smaller than a valve lift of the main intake valve and wherein the duration of opening of the auxiliary intake valve is arranged to be shorter than that of the main intake valve for each of the intake strokes of the engine. The auxiliary intake stroke is preferably so operated as to start to open after the main intake valve has been opened and to fully close simultaneously as or before the main intake valve is fully closed. The improvements are intended to prevent escape of an air-fuel mixture from the auxiliary combustion chamber into the main combustion chamber during intake strokes of the engine so that the ratio between the volumes of the air-fuel mixtures in the two combustion chambers is maintained constant under varying operational conditions of the engine.
