A producing method for producing zirconia hollow particles in which a zirconia powder mutually combines to form a porous shell layer thereby constructing a hollow structure, the method being characterized in mixing under a pressurized contact a resin powder and a zirconia powder of a grain size smaller than that of the resin powder, thereby forming a precursor by covering a surface of the resin powder with the zirconia powder in a partially embedded state, and calcining the precursor to expel the resin powder and to mutually sinter the zirconia powder.

An engine with a variable compression ratio includes a connecting rod connected to a piston, a first arm turnably connected to the connecting rod and to a crankshaft through a crankpin, a second arm integrally connected to the first arm, a control rod turnably connected to the second arm, and a displaceable support shaft for supporting the other end of the control rod for turning movement. In the engine, a displacement Vhpiv0 and a compression ratio εpiv0 at the time when the support shaft is in any first position and a displacement Vhpiv1 and a compression ratio εpiv1 at the time when the support shaft is in a second position displaced from the first position are determined, and a relation, Vhpiv1>Vhpiv0 is satisfied when εpiv1 εpiv0.
Abstract:
A patterned cloth is made by which a pattern is formed on a surface of a work cloth by passing a thread through the work cloth a number of times and forming a plurality of free loops on the reverse side of the work cloth. A double-sided adhesive tape is provided to fix the free loops on the reverse side of the work cloth. The work cloth has an elastic film member, the elastic film member allowing the free loops to be retained on the reverse side of the work cloth.

In a handheld type four-cycle engine, a valve operation mechanism includes a camshaft rotatably supported in a cylinder head so as to open and close an intake valve and an exhaust valve and a timing transmission placed on one side outside an engine main body and providing association between a crankshaft and the camshaft, and a centrifugal clutch for power output is mounted on the crankshaft on the opposite side outside the engine main body. The timing transmission and the centrifugal clutch being positioned at the two ends of the crankshaft improves the weight balance, the centre of gravity of the engine can be made as close to the central part of the crankshaft as possible, which, together with the reduced weight, can enhance the operability of the engine.

A single overhead cam (OHC) engine is provided in which intake and exhaust valves and intake and exhaust cam followers are disposed on opposite sides of a single valve operating cam which is disposed in a cylinder head. The intake and exhaust valves are parallel to each other and perpendicular to a crankshaft axis. The intake and exhaust cam followers are formed in a bifurcated configuration. One arm portions of the intake and exhaust cam followers extend inwardly towards each other, and contact the intake and exhaust valves, and other arm portions of the intake and exhaust cam followers also extend inwardly towards each other, and contact a cam face of the valve operating cam below a center C of rotation of the valve operating cam. With this arrangement, it is possible to reduce, in both size and cost, the head of the engine body in an OHC engine.

A liquid heating or cooling circulator in which a liquid such as liquid egg is heated and cooled and flows easily and which is easily cleaned. The circulator includes a casing which holds a number of vertically disposed pipes held between upper and lower holding plates. The interior surfaces of the pipes is an aluminum alloy for corrosion resistance. A circulating pumps and valves are provided so as to circulate the liquid egg or other liquid through the pipes in the casing.

A method of cracking eggs in which many eggs are simultaneously cracked and fed onto a roasting pan or vessel quickly without breaking down of the shape thereof. The eggs are cracked by a cutter which ascends into an egg supporting frame through which a lower portion of each egg protrudes.

A navigation apparatus mounted in a subject vehicle designates an inference destination point based on historical data and calculates a reference route to the inference destination point. If the subject vehicle deviates from the reference route before arriving at the inference destination point, the navigation apparatus records a shift route until the subject vehicle returns to the reference route. When the subject vehicle returns to the reference route, the shift route from a deviation point to a return point is recorded as a difference route.

A liquid-cooled engine provided with cooling means for cooling an area surrounding a combustion chamber using a cooling liquid cooled by a radiator and caused to flow through a cooling passage. The cooling passage is embedded inside a cylinder block and a cylinder head. The cooling passage is formed in a continuous fashion such that the cooling liquid is introduced from the radiator to cool an area surrounding the combustion chamber, and thereafter returns to the radiator by looping around an area surrounding an exhaust valve for opening and closing an exhaust port of the combustion chamber.

A navigation apparatus displays a trend of house number increase or house number decrease when a vehicle is traveling on a street from one intersection to another intersection. By displaying the trend of the house number increase or the house number decrease as a clue of currently traveling position of the vehicle, the navigation apparatus makes it possible for a driver of the vehicle to easily understand where the driver is going and/or where the driver is traveling.
