摘要: Disclosed are various embodiments related to coordinated monitoring and responding to an emergency situation at a building structure as a supplement to a traditional emergency response. In some embodiments, a system comprises a computing device that is configured to receive sensor data from a sensor network. The sensor network includes monitoring units that monitor various locations of an infrastructure. The computing device determines an occurrence of an emergency event at a location in the infrastructure using an anomaly detector model based at least in part on the sensor data. A hybrid mobile unit is instructed by the computing device to navigate to the location of the emergency event. The hybrid mobile unit is configured to provide mobile sensor data associated with the location to confirm the emergency event.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a hydrogel comprising hyaluronic acid polymers that are at least partially crosslinked with fibrinogen molecules. Also disclosed is a composition comprising a glycidyl methacrylate hyaluronic acid monomer chemically conjugated to a fibrinogen molecule. Also disclosed is a method for producing a hydrogel that involves combining the disclosed composition containing GMHA-Fib precursors with an effective amount of a photoinitiator and light (e.g. UV light) to crosslink unconjugated methacrylate sites through free-radical polymerization. Also disclosed is a method for treating a subject with a peripheral nerve injury that involves implanting the disclosed hydrogel at the site of the injury to promote neural regeneration.

摘要: Various examples related to portland cement manufacturing using municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) ash are provided. In one example, a method includes providing a raw kiln feed including MSWI to a kiln, forming ash-amended clinker (ACK) by heating the raw kiln feed in the kiln, and preparing ash-amended cement (AAC) from the ACK. The MSWI bottom ash can make up about 5% by mass or less of the raw kiln feed. The ACK can have a chemical composition that meets ASTM C150/ASTM C595, and the AAC can include arsenic, barium, copper, and lead consistent with defined Soil Cleanup Target Levels. In another example, a system includes a kiln, a kiln feed system that supplies raw kiln feed including MSWI bottom ash to the kiln, and a finish mill that grinds ACK formed by heating the raw kiln feed in the kiln to form AAC.

摘要: In one aspect, the disclosure relates to methods of treating a subject having a clinical condition associated with low circulating levels of testosterone, comprising: administering to the subject a therapeutically effective dose of sevoflurane, thereby treating the clinical condition associated with low circulating levels of testosterone. In some aspects, the sevoflurane can be administered nasally or by inhalation. In another aspect, exposure to sevoflurane results in long-term increase in serum levels of testosterone in the subject (e.g., 60 days to 120 days). 摘要: The present invention pertains to the use of the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR)-activating nutrients (designated as “CaSR-based nutrients”) for the prevention and/or treatment of diarrheal diseases and inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. In one embodiment, the current invention is formulated for oral administration. The anti-diarrheal composition of the present invention is useful for treating diarrheal and gastrointestinal inflammatory conditions in infants and young children.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a bioreactor system that allows perfusive flow through a porous support medium enabling 3D growth of biological samples. In some embodiments, the system comprises a sample well filled with a three-dimensional (3D) cell growth medium. The system can further comprises a liquid medium reservoir fluidly connected to the sample well by a first filter material. The system can further comprises a medium collection chamber fluidly connected to the sample well by a second filter material. The system can further comprise an absorbant material that creates an osmotic pressure gradient to produce perfusive flow. In some embodiments, osmotic pressure draws fluid from the liquid medium reservoir, through the first filter material, into the sample well where it permeates the three-dimensional cell growth medium, through the second filter material, and finally into the medium collection chamber.
