摘要: Systems, instruments, and methods are described in which a scalpet device comprises a housing configured to include a scalpet assembly. The scalpet assembly includes a scalpet array and one or more guide plates. The scalpet array includes a set of scalpets, and in embodiments the set of scalpets include multiple scalpets. The guide plate maintains a configuration of the set of scalpets. The set of scalpets is configured to be deployed from and retracted into the housing, and is configured to generate incised skin pixels at a target site when deployed. The incised skin pixels are harvested.

摘要: An ultrasonic device may include an ultrasonic system including a transducer coupled to an ultrasonic blade, A method of delivering energy to the device may include sensing a vessel contacting the blade, identifying that the vessel is calcified, and generating a warning. In some aspects, the method further includes disabling one or more activation functions of the blade. In another aspect, the method further includes generating a message to apply compression to the vessel for a predetermined period, disabling activation functions of the blade during compression, and enabling activation functions after the expiration of the compression period. In yet another aspect, the method includes applying a compressive clamp force to the calcified vessel by driving a clamp arm toward the blade, disabling activation functions of the blade during compression, and enabling the activation functions after adjusting the compressive force. An ultrasonic surgical instrument may effect the method.

摘要: Systems and methods for preventing the seeding of cancerous cells during morcellation of a tissue specimen inside a patient's body and removal of the tissue specimen from inside the patient through a minimally-invasive body opening to outside the patient are provided. One system includes a cut-resistant tissue guard removably insertable into a containment bag. The tissue specimen is isolated and contained within the containment bag and the guard is configured to protect the containment bag and surrounding tissue from incidental contact with sharp instrumentation used during morcellation and extraction of the tissue specimen. The guard is adjustable for easy insertion and removal and configured to securely anchor to the body opening. Protection-focused and containment-based systems for tissue removal are provided that enable minimally invasive procedures to be performed safely and efficiently.

摘要: The present application provides an ultrasonic surgical instrument with a detachable cannula component, comprising a cannula component and an instrument body, wherein the instrument body comprises a scalpel bar for realizing an ultrasonic cutting effect. The cannula component is mounted on the instrument body or dismounted from the instrument body along the longitudinal axis of the scalpel bar by a detachable structure. The present application also provides another ultrasonic surgical instrument with a detachable cannula component, comprising a detachable cannula component and an instrument body, wherein the instrument body comprises a non-detachable internal cannula and a scalpel bar capable of realizing an ultrasonic cutting effect. Compared with the prior art, the ultrasonic surgical instrument with a detachable cannula component of the present application has the advantages of being simple in structure, convenient to mount and dismount and low in use cost.

摘要: A generator, ultrasonic device, and method for controlling a temperature of an ultrasonic blade are disclosed. A control circuit coupled to a memory determines an actual resonant frequency of an ultrasonic electromechanical system comprising an ultrasonic transducer coupled to an ultrasonic blade by an ultrasonic waveguide. The actual resonant frequency is correlated to an actual temperature of the ultrasonic blade. The control circuit retrieves from the memory a reference resonant frequency of the ultrasonic electromechanical system. The reference resonant frequency is correlated to a reference temperature of the ultrasonic blade. The control circuit then infers the temperature of the ultrasonic blade based on the difference between the actual resonant frequency and the reference resonant frequency. The control circuit controls the temperature of the ultrasonic blade based on the inferred temperature.

摘要: A surgical knife safety device having a handle, a blade connected to the handle, and a guard carried by the handle for sliding movement between a retracted position in which the blade is exposed for use, and an extended position for covering the sharp cutting edge of the blade. In the retracted position, an enlarged guard radius is provided at the distal end of the handle to allow improved handle control and blade orientation. The enlarged guard radius is positioned to allow the user to firmly grip a large distal handle portion which is preferably molded as a single piece with the blade holder, preventing unwanted blade or handle movement due to guard mechanism tolerances.

摘要: A medical tool insertion guide device includes a base portion composed primarily of electromagnetically transmissive material but has a first component composed of electromagnetically absorptive material. The device also includes a movable portion composed primarily of the electromagnetically transmissive material, but has a second component composed of absorptive material. The movable portion is mounted, but movable by rotation or translation relative, to the base portion. An encoder sensor is mounted to one portion, and an encoder scale is mounted to the other, and the sensor faces the scale when mounted. The components can include fiducial markers. The transmissivity and absorptivity can be in a particular band(s), such as an X-ray band. The medical tool can be a needle, a medical probe, a scalpel, etc. A computer based method of providing control guidance for the device is provided, and a program therefor can be stored in a storage medium.

摘要: Systems, instruments or devices, and methods or procedures are described in which a scalpet array is applied to a target site with the use of a pattern. The scalpet array comprises scalpets positioned on a device. Skin pixels are incised at the target site via application of a load through the scalpet array. A recipient site is prepared by positioning the pattern at the recipient site and applying the scalpet array to generate skin defects. The incised skin pixels are applied at the skin defects of the recipient site.
