摘要: A vehicle includes an engine, a motor generator, an electrical storage device, a keeping switch, and a controller. The controller is configured to (a) cause the vehicle to travel by using the output of at least one of the engine and the motor generator, (b) control the state of charge of the electrical storage device, (c) when the keeping mode is requested in response to the signal output from the keeping switch and when the state of charge is higher than a threshold, execute a first keeping control for keeping the state of charge at a current value, and (d) when the keeping mode is requested in response to the signal output from the keeping switch and when the state of charge is lower than the threshold, execute a second keeping control for recovering the state of charge from a current value.

摘要: A hybrid vehicle includes powertrain components such as an engine, an automatic transmission, and a traction motor selectively coupled to the engine via a clutch and to the transmission. At least one controller is programmed to control these powertrain components. The vehicle is driven over a drive cycle that includes multiple engine starts and transmission gear shifts. An amount of fuel consumption used during these engine starts and transmissions gear shifts is stored on an on-board storage device. Subsequently, the engine is inhibited from starting and the transmission is inhibited from shifting gears based on the amount of fuel consumption associated with the engine starts and transmission gear shifts performed during the drive cycle as recalled from the storage device.

摘要: A plurality of virtual gear positions are established by an electric continuously variable transmission, and the number of speeds of the virtual gear positions is equal to or larger than the number of speeds of mechanical gear positions of a mechanical stepwise variable transmission. One virtual gear position or two or more virtual gear positions is/are assigned to each mechanical gear position, and the mechanical gear position is shifted in the same timing as shift timing of the virtual gear position. The virtual gear positions assigned to each mechanical gear position when the mechanical gear position is upshifted are different from the virtual gear positions assigned to each mechanical gear position when the mechanical gear position is downshifted. Thus, the amount of heat generated in frictional engagement elements of the mechanical stepwise variable transmission is prevented from being increased.

摘要: An engine starting control system for hybrid vehicles is provided to prevent a temporal drop in drive force when starting an engine. The control system maintains an operating mode of a switching mechanism when starting the engine by the first motor, in a case that the vehicle is propelled in the forward direction by the first motor and that the switching mechanism is in a second mode, or in a case that the vehicle is propelled in the reverse direction by the first motor and that the switching mechanism is in the first mode. Thereafter, the control system increases a rotational speed of the engine to a self-sustaining speed, switches the operating mode of the switching mechanism, and increases torque of the engine.

摘要: A hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, an electrical storage device, a rotary electric machine, and a controller. The internal combustion engine includes a variable valve actuating device. The variable valve actuating device is configured to change an operation characteristic of an intake valve. The electrical storage device is configured to be charged. The rotary electric machine is configured to generate driving force for propelling the hybrid vehicle by using electric power that is supplied from the electrical storage device. The controller is configured to cause the hybrid vehicle to travel in a selected one of a charge sustaining mode and a charge depleting mode. The charge sustaining mode is a mode in which a state of charge of the electrical storage device is kept within a predetermined range. The charge depleting mode is a mode in which consumption of the state of charge is given a higher priority as compared to the charge sustaining mode. The controller is configured to change a switching condition for switching from the charge depleting mode to the charge sustaining mode such that a first state of charge is higher than a second state of charge. The first state of charge is an state of charge at which the controller switches from the charge depleting mode to the charge sustaining mode at the time when the operation characteristic of the intake valve is unchangeable to a desired operation characteristic. The second state of charge is an state of charge at which the controller switches from the charge depleting mode to the charge sustaining mode at the time when the operation characteristic of the intake valve is changeable to a desired operation characteristic.

摘要: A driving force control system for a hybrid vehicle is provided to reduce a shock resulting from switching a travelling direction between the forward direction and the backward direction. The control system is applied to a hybrid vehicle in which an operating mode can be selected at least from a series mode and a series parallel mode. A travelling direction of the vehicle is switched by a shifting device between forward direction and backward direction. A controller is configured to maintain the previous operating mode after switching the travelling direction of the vehicle by the shifting device.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for controlling a hybrid electric vehicle are provided. The apparatus includes a navigation device that provides information regarding a gradient, a speed limit, and a traffic speed of a road. An accelerator pedal position detector detects a position of an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal position detector detects a position of a brake pedal. A vehicle speed detector detects a vehicle speed, a state of charge (SOC) detector detects an SOC of a battery, and a gear stage detector detects a gear stage that is currently engaged. A controller operates the hybrid vehicle based on signals of the navigation device, the accelerator pedal position detector, the brake pedal position detector, the vehicle speed detector, the SOC detector, and the gear stage detector.

摘要: A hybrid vehicle includes an engine and a motor that are both capable of powering the wheels. While a vehicle is being driven, the vehicle's driving condition data is monitored. The driving condition data can include steering wheel angle or position, accelerator pedal position, driver torque or power demands, or road grade or incline. The vehicle includes a controller with a specific control scheme to receive the driving condition data, and subject the data to a moving average or a weighted moving average. Based on the averaged driving condition data, the engine is inhibited from stopping under certain conditions to reduce the frequency of the engine turning on and off.

摘要: A system for use with a battery and sensors operable for measuring battery data includes an interactive user interface and a controller programmed with battery degradation monitoring logic for estimating a state of the battery. As part of a method, the controller identifies data bins for which measured state of charge range-based battery performance data is missing or dated/stale, and automatically prompts an operator to execute an assigned task corresponding to the identified data bins. The controller records the battery performance data for the identified data bins upon completion of the assigned task, estimates the state of the battery using the recorded battery performance data and the battery degradation monitoring logic, and executes a control action with respect to the system using the estimated state. A virtual or actual reward feature may be displayed in response to completion of the assigned task.
