摘要: The present invention relates to a manufacturing apparatus and method for customizing a H2/CO synthetic gas in a desired ratio by producing a synthetic gas in which H2 and CO are mixed through hydrolysis of both carbon dioxide and a nitrogen compound with low power. In a low-power electrochemical apparatus for producing a synthetic gas according to the present invention, by performing the reduction of the carbon dioxide at the cathode and the oxidation of the nitrogen compound at the anode at the same time, carbon dioxide conversion efficiency may be improved 30% or more compared to the conventional carbon dioxide conversion system, and a synthetic gas with a desired H2/CO ratio may be produced by controlling the H2/CO ratio of the produced synthetic gas, and by reducing a driving voltage, the corrosion problem of electrode materials may be inhibited and the durability of electrodes may be increased.

摘要: To provide an oxygen and hydrogen production technology that is novel, convenient, and environmentally suitable, and decomposes water at a high rate. Based on the finding that an aromatic amine polymer acts as an oxidation catalyst that generates oxygen from water and a polyarylenevinylene acts as a reduction catalyst that generates hydrogen from water, oxygen and hydrogen are generated at a high rate by applying a slight overpotential relative to an equilibrium potential because these catalysts operate at a very low overpotential. Further, irradiation of the water-oxidation⋅oxygen-generation catalyst with light including solar light increases a production rate of oxygen and hydrogen. The aromatic amine polymer and the polyarylenevinylene are both aromatic polymers, are low cost, and have considerably high durability in water over a wide pH range and in addition, they may have hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity, interface area, and shape suited for electrode catalysts.

摘要: Proposed is a CO2-reduction membrane electrode assembly (MEA), which is a novel MEA capable of changing a reaction condition to an alkaline condition from a problematic acidic condition unfavorable to reactions on a cathode side during catalytic reactions using a cation exchange membrane (CEM) as a separator. In addition, the MEA can reduce a hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), which is a side reaction. In addition, a method of manufacturing the MEA, and a CO2-reduction assembly including the MEA are also proposed.

摘要: The present invention relates to reusable metal substrate for photoelectrochemical solar water splitting applications. The process comprises preparing a surface of the metal substrate, coating the surface of the metal substrate using photoactive semiconductor thin films, forming a working electrode, scaling-up of the working electrode, and re-using the metal substrate. The present invention has advantages such as higher current, better handling, capability to reuse and capability of direct geometrical scale-up of the electrodes.

摘要: In this disclosure, a process of recycling acid, base and the salt reagents required in the Li recovery process is introduced. A membrane electrolysis cell which incorporates an oxygen depolarized cathode is implemented to generate the required chemicals onsite. The system can utilize a portion of the salar brine or other lithium-containing brine or solid waste to generate hydrochloric or sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide and carbonate salts. Simultaneous generation of acid and base allows for taking advantage of both chemicals during the conventional Li recovery from brines and mineral rocks. The desalinated water can also be used for the washing steps on the recovery process or returned into the evaporation ponds. The method also can be used for the direct conversion of lithium salts to the high value LiOH product. The method does not produce any solid effluent which makes it easy-to-adopt for use in existing industrial Li recovery plants.

摘要: A rapid method of synthesizing nanoflowers made of nanoflakes of nickel molybdate (NiMoO4) directly on nickel foam (NF) through an aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition (AACVD) process is disclosed. The nickel molybdate nanoflowers were grown on NF by varying the deposition time for 60 and 120 min at a fixed temperature of 480° C. and their efficiency was investigated as oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in 1 M KOH electrolyte. The NiMoO4 nanoflowers of NF obtained after 60 minutes of AACVD process showed OER performance with lowest overpotential of 320 mV to reach standard current density of 10 mA cm−2. The catalyst continuously performed the OER for 15 h, signifying its prominent stability under electrochemical conditions.

摘要: A CaTiO3—TiO2 composite electrode and method of making is described. The composite electrode comprises a substrate with an average 2-12 μm thick layer of CaTiO3—TiO2 composite particles having average diameters of 0.2-2.2 μm. The method of making the composite electrode involves contacting the substrate with an aerosol comprising a solvent, a calcium complex, and a titanium complex. The CaTiO3—TiO2 composite electrode is capable of being used in a photoelectrochemical cell for water splitting.
