摘要： A high gloss laminated panel is manufactured by applying a layer of a resin composition on a substrate layer and applying elevated pressure at elevated temperature for a time sufficient to at least partially cure the resin preferably without back-cooling. The resin composition includes a melamine formaldehyde resin in water and further includes one or more additives chosen from the group of thiourea, 1-amino-2-thiourea, stabilized guanidine, thio-acetamide, or an additive.

摘要： A high pressure laminate is made of several layers of paper, including from bottom to top core sheets, a decor sheet and an overlay sheet. The core sheets are either composed of cellulose fibers or composed of 30 to 90 weight percent cellulose acetate fibers and 70 to 10 weight percent cellulose fibers. The core sheets are respectively coated with either a lamination polymer or a plasticizer. The decor sheet is composed of a mixture and a conventional amount of paper making dye. The mixture comprises 30 to about 90 weight percent cellulose acetate fibers, 10 to 70 weight percent cellulose fibers and 0 to 20 weight percent fillers. The decor sheet is coated with a plasticizer. The overlay sheet is composed of cellulose fibers and is coated with a lamination polymer. Upon application of heat and pressure to the several layers a laminate is formed having thermoplastic properties, improved postformability and a significant reduction in the release of volatile organics during formation.

摘要： A process of producing laminate articles comprising coating or plating the press surfaces, whether plates, or interleaved press plates, with a flouro-polymer impregnated hard coating. Typical coatings that can be used with the flouro-polymer including nickel and chrome, their combinations, and alloys thereof. Advantages of the invention are expected to include better plate life, fewer plate cleanings, fast press times while supporting lower product cost and better equipment utilization. In addition, laminate products include a flouro-polymer as part of the laminate product. The process permits the omission of the so called “overlay” layer, typically an α-cellulose layer, which overlies hard particles in the upper surface of the laminate while providing increased pressing surface life.
