    摘要： A telephone answering machine utilizing either a single magnetic tape containing alternating announcement and message sections, or separate announcement and message tapes. The tape or tapes have permanently affixed magnetic foil sections which are set to provide control signals for the various timing functions performed within the machine. The foil sections on the tape(s) switch the machine between record and playback functions, control the tape transport(s), and control the commencement and duration of the "beep" tone which follows the outgoing announcement.

    摘要： A display apparatus connected to a recording medium cassette having a recording medium, a cassette case for accommodating the recording medium, a storage device for storing recording information recorded on the recording medium and information about the cassette itself, and a plurality of terminals for connecting the storage device to external equipment. This display apparatus comprises a loading portion for loading the recording medium cassette, a connector provided on the loading portion to be connected with the plurality of terminals, a reading device for reading the information from the storage device through the connector, and a display device for displaying the information read by the reading device. Simply connecting the plurality of terminals of the recording medium cassette to the connector of the recording/reproducing apparatus allows display of the recording information about the recording medium cassette, thus providing recorded contents of the recording medium cassette quickly and easily as well as facilitating retrieval and management of the recorded contents.

    摘要： A removable container holds a plurality of video disks each storing prerecorded video pictures that are played back in a multi-disk video player. The container includes a magazine for storing the disks and a non-volatile, erasable memory supported adjacent the magazine between guide rails formed on one side of the magazine. The memory is locked in place on the rails when the container is outside the player by a movable locking key that is biased into a locking slot in the magazine. When the container is inserted into the player, the locking key is displaced out of the slot; the memory is detached from the magazine and connected into the player circuit, thus permitting movement of the magazine without disturbing transfer of data to and from the immobilized memory.

    摘要： A multi-track magnetic recording tape and a corresponding method for providing an early warning of end-of-tape conditions and an indication of load-point conditions, without the use of inter-track markers. The recording tracks are divided into two sets located on separate halves of the tape, and the sets of tracks are longitudinally offset with respect to each other, to provide a half-width unrecordable region at each end of the tape. A tape marker is located in each of the unrecordable regions, each marker serving as a load-point marker for use with one set of tracks, and as an early-warning marker for use with the other set of tracks.
