Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a sliding member capable of rapidly wrapping a mating member, and reducing the surface roughness of the mating member after wrapping. The present invention relates to a sliding member for sliding with a mating member subjected to hardening treatment, the sliding member including a coating layer containing a binder resin, molybdenum disulfide, and hard substance particles in massive form.
Abstract:
A piston for an internal combustion engine includes a piston base material and a film of lubrication coating composition. The coating composition has an inner coating layer formed on a surface of the piston base material and an outer coating layer formed on a surface of the inner coating layer. Each of the inner coating layer and the outer coating layer contains at least one of a polyamide-imide resin, a polyimide resin and an epoxy resin as a binder. The inner coating layer contains 0 to 50 wt % of at least one of graphite and molybdenum disulfide as a solid lubricant, whereas the outer coating layer contains 50 to 95 wt % of at least one of graphite and molybdenum disulfide as a solid lubricant.
Abstract:
A method for creating an artifact for use with an optical three-dimensional measuring system includes steps of: (a) providing an artifact that comprises an inspection surface, which artifact is configured to be scanned by a non-contact sensor included in the optical three-dimensional measuring system, which artifact comprises at least one of a substantially spherical body and a turbine engine component, and which inspection surface comprises a surface of one of the substantially spherical body and the turbine engine component; (b) heating the artifact to a predetermined temperature; and (c) coating the inspection surface of the heated artifact with an approximately uniform coating of dry film lubricant.

Abstract:
A piston coating is described that comprises at least one aqueous dispersion selected from among the group including phenolic resins, epoxy resins, polyvinyl butyral, or the condensation products thereof, and at elast one solid lubricant selected from among the group including graphite, MoS2, WS2, and BN. Said coating dispenses with the use of toxic solvents and has a wear resistance and a coefficient of friction similar to those of conventional coatings.
Abstract:
An anti-seizing agent including: a first solid lubricant containing at least one of bismuth and a bismuth compound; and a second solid lubricant containing at least one of graphite, molybdenum disulfide and boron nitride. The anti-seizing agent satisfies the relationships 20 weight %≦a≦90 weight % and 10 weight %≦d≦80 weight %, in which a sum of the contents of the first solid lubricant and the second solid lubricant in the anti-seizing agent is taken as 100 weight %, and a represents a content of the first solid lubricant and d represents a content of the second solid lubricant.
Abstract:
A double-layer lubrication coating composition is made up of an upper-layer coating composition and a lower-layer coating composition. The upper-layer coating composition is made up of 50 to 70 wt % of an epoxy resin or a polyamide-imide resin, 5 to 20 wt % of boron nitride, and 15 to 30 wt % of silicone nitride or alumina. The lower-layer coating composition is made up of 50 to 70 wt % of an epoxy resin or a polyamide-imide resin, 15 to 30 wt % of polytetrafluoroethylene and 5 to 20 wt % of molybdenum disulfide and may include graphite as required.
Abstract:
Forge lubrication processes are disclosed. A solid lubricant sheet is placed between a workpiece and a die in a forging apparatus. Force is applied to the workpiece with the die to plastically deform the workpiece. The solid lubricant sheet decreases the shear friction factor for the forging system and reduces the incidence of die-locking.
Abstract:
An electric submersible motor is provided that includes a plurality of rotors and bearings mounted on a shaft, and a stator external to said rotors. A running clearance is located between an inner diameter of the stator and external diameter of the rotors, and includes a lubricating oil that includes a base hydrocarbon oil and a plurality of nanoparticles. Also provided is an improved lubricant oil and method of preparation thereof are provided. The lubricant oil includes a hydrocarbon containing base oil and a plurality of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles may be present in an amount up to 30% by volume.
Abstract:
A method for producing and commissioning a transmission with a water-based lubricant comprises the following steps. A mixture of a vaporizable liquid, a comminuted solid lubricant and a preserving agent (22) are applied (21) to the finished rotary parts (20) and then dried (23), whereby a coating forms on them. The rotary parts with the coating are installed in the transmission housing and the assembled transmission is filled with a cooling liquid (25), which is primarily essentially water. The transmission is put into operation for the first time (27), wherein the lubricant for the further operation is only formed by abrasion of the rotary parts and distribution of the abraded matter in the cooling liquid. The transmission is then ready for operation (28). Furthermore, a lubricant produced by this method is described.
