    摘要: A method for diagnosing engine thermostat is presented. Indicated engine coolant temperature is estimated based on engine operating conditions, such as engine speed, net engine torque, air flow, fuel-air ratio, net engine torque, etc. This estimate is compared to the reading of the engine coolant temperature sensor in areas below the temperature at which the thermostat starts to open and above in order to detect degradation in the performance of the sensor or the engine thermostat. If the estimate and the reading agree in one area and disagree in the other, then the thermostat performance is degraded. If the estimate and the reading disagree in both temperature ranges, then the coolant sensor performance may be degraded.

    摘要: Various systems and methods for an engine system which includes a throttle turbine generator having a turbine which drives an auxiliary generator and disposed in a throttle bypass are described. In some examples, a throttle bypass valve is controlled to adjust airflow through the throttle bypass responsive to airflow to cylinders of the engine. In other examples, an operating parameter such as throttle position is controlled based on transient operating conditions of the engine. In still other examples, charging of a battery is coordinated between the auxiliary generator and a primary generator.

    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for expediting engine spin-down in an engine that is shutdown during engine idle-stop conditions and restarted during restart conditions. In one example, the method comprises, during an automatic engine idle-stop, turning off spark, operating a first cylinder with a rich ratio of air to injected fuel richer than a rich flammability limit, operating a second cylinder with a lean ratio of air to injected fuel leaner than a lean flammability limit, and mixing un-combusted exhaust from the first and second cylinders with exhaust, the exhaust mixture being substantially stoichiometric.

    摘要: A method for an engine with first and second injectors in a cylinder provides different fuel injection compensation upon reaching minimum pulsewidths of the first and second injectors. When the first injector reaches its minimum pulsewidth, the first injector is disabled. However, when the second injector reaches its minimum pulsewidth, the second injector is maintained active and injection from the first injector is decreased. In this way, sufficient injection from the second injector is maintained in either situation.
