Abstract:
A solid-phase polymerization method of high-molecular-weight aliphatic polyester conducts the solid-phase polymerization of aliphatic polyester prepolymer under a gas stream containing sulfonic acid catalyst. The method features preparing metal free aliphatic polyester with high molecular weight, good color and luster and perfect thermal stability efficiently. The non-metal-ion aliphatic polyester is not only applicable to common use, but is also suitable as high value-added medical material and packing material which contacts with food directly than other metal-containing polyester.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for managing stack data in multi-core processors having scratchpad memory or limited local memory. In one embodiment, stack data management calls are inserted into software in accordance with an integer linear programming formulation and a smart stack data management heuristic. In another embodiment, stack management and pointer management functions are inserted before and after function calls and pointer references, respectively. The calls may be inserted in an automated fashion by a compiler utilizing an optimized stack data management runtime library.

A breakout assembly in accordance with one aspect of the invention includes a housing including a tubular body defining a passage extending from a first end to an opposite second end of the body. An interior surface of the body includes a plurality of longitudinal guides, the interior surface further including a stop. The tubular body defines a plurality of openings extending through the body on opposite sides of the stop. The breakout assembly further includes a cap which is slidably received within the body of the housing, wherein notches within the cap receive the guides of the housing, and wherein the cap is engageable with the stop. The cap defines a plurality of internal openings extending through the cap. A multi-fiber cable can be received within the body from one end, and a plurality of breakout tubings are received within the body of the opposite end. The multi-fiber cable includes a breakout end terminating within the tubular body wherein a plurality of the broken out fibers pass through the cap, and into the breakout tubings. In one preferred embodiment, epoxy is placed within the tubular body, on opposite sides of the cap.

The hair-conditioning agent may include a shape memory polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyurethane, an acrylic acid copolymer, a pyridine-based copolymer, and a pyrrolidone copolymer.

An air filter assembly is disclosed. The air filter assembly is comprised of a frame consisting of two sections configured for releasable holding of a recyclable filter material. The air filter assembly is further comprised of a fragrance contained in a container configured to passively release the fragrance during air flow. The air filter assembly is further comprised of at least one compartment for securely holding the fragrance container.

The present invention is a method for detecting DNA sequence differences including single nucleotide mutations or polymorphisms, one or more nucleotide insertions, and one or more nucleotide deletions. Labeled heteroduplex PCR fragments containing base mismatches are prepared. Endonuclease cleaves the heteroduplex PCR fragments both at the position containing the variation (one or more mismatched bases) and to a lesser extent, at non-variant (perfectly matched) positions. Ligation of the cleavage products with a DNA ligase corrects non-variant cleavages and thus substantially reduces background. This is then followed by a detection step in which the reaction products are detected, and the position of the sequence variations are determined.
Abstract:
New and improved microwave plasma assisted reactors, for example chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) reactors, are disclosed. The disclosed microwave plasma assisted reactors operate at pressures ranging from about 10 Torr to about 760 Torr. The disclosed microwave plasma assisted reactors include a movable lower sliding short and/or a reduced diameter conductive stage in a coaxial cavity of a plasma chamber. For a particular application, the lower sliding short position and/or the conductive stage diameter can be variably selected such that, relative to conventional reactors, the reactors can be tuned to operate over larger substrate areas, operate at higher pressures, and discharge absorbed power densities with increased diamond synthesis rates (carats per hour) and increased deposition uniformity.

A memory card connector includes a dielectric housing having at least one terminal-receiving slot. A conductive terminal is mounted in the slot and includes a generally U-shaped section defining a fixing leg and a contact leg joined by a spring bend. The fixing leg is fixed to the housing. The contact leg is resiliently flexible and has a contact portion for engaging a contact on a memory card. A latch mechanism is interengaged between the fixing leg and the contact leg for preloading the resiliently flexible contact leg with a preload force while allowing the contact leg to flex upon engagement with the memory card.

An improved adjustable golf tee comprises a tubular housing, an inner member slideably retained within the housing, and a removable retaining plug inserted into the housing. The tubular housing has an upper end, and a lower end fixed to a base. The lower end of the housing has an opening therein that is suitably generally rectangular in cross section and is beveled outwardly on opposed sides. The inner member has an upper end for supporting a golf ball, a body and a lower portion slideably retained at respective desired positions within the tubular housing. The lower portion of the inner member has two flexible legs that are extendable through the lower opening of the housing. Once the inner member is slid into the desired position, relative to the housing, the legs are extended outwardly along the beveled sides of the lower opening. The removable plug is inserted between the flexible legs of the inner member and wedged into the external lower opening, to fix the flexible legs against the lower end of the housing, to retain the inner member at the desired position.

A rotary electric motor is formed within a cylindrical rotor housing structure that surrounds an annular stator ring. The permanent magnet rotor is configured in an annular ring coaxial with, and outside of, the stator. The stator ring contains a plurality of wound core segments that are ferromagnetically isolated from each other. The core segments are secured to a rigid skeletal structure that is centrally fixed to a stationary shaft. The stator support structure is formed of spine members that extend radially away from the center. U-shaped plates at the outer ends of the spine members engage adjacent pair of stator segments. Within the inner periphery of the stator ring, space is provided within which motor control circuitry and battery power supply may be incorporated.
