    摘要: A dent (1A) for a reed for use on a high-speed weaving machine, comprises a thin flat strip (3) made of stainless steel, and a hard carbon film (2) formed on only the surface of a working ridge edge portion (3b) of the thin flat strip (3) to come into sliding contact with a yarn. The method of manufacture comprising steps of superposing a plurality of thin flat strips (3) made of a stainless steel in the same shape in a stack with the flat side surfaces (3a) of the adjacent thin flat strips (3) in close contact with each other, placing the stack of thin flat strips (3) in a film forming atmosphere with the ridge edge portions opposite the working edge portions (3b) to come in sliding contact with a yarn trued up by a dent aligning jig, and coating the working ridge edge portions (3b) of the thin flat strips (3) exposed to the film forming atmosphere with a hard carbon film (2).

    摘要: Tableware of Ti or a Ti alloy having a surface hardened layer comprising a first hardened layer in which nitrogen and oxygen are diffused so as to form a solid solution and a second hardened layer which is formed in a region deeper than the first hardened layer. The substrate may have a hard decorative coating film. A substrate comprising Ti or a Ti alloy has on its surface an internal hardened layer comprising a first hardened layer and a second hardened layer, wherein the hard decorative coating film is formed on the surface of the internal hardened layer. The cutlery comprises a working part and a grip, the grip provided with a floating means such as a hollow part. Titanium tableware having excellent long-term mar resistance and high quality appearance, increasing the decorative value of the tableware. Further, a process for surface treatment to obtain the titanium tableware with high productivity and a substrate having a hard decorative coating film with excellent mar resistance and high surface hardness. The cutlery is lightweight, mar-resistant and can be easily handled.

    摘要: The invention provides a guide bush wherein a cemented carbide alloy containing at least cobalt is provided on an inner surface thereof for holding a workpiece rotatably and slidably in the longitudinal axial direction thereof in close proximity of a cutting tool, and a DLC film is formed over the cemented carbide alloy, cobalt being removed from the surface of the cemented carbide alloy, adjoining the DLC film. By forming the DLC film 15 on the surface of the cemented carbide alloy 12 from which cobalt has been removed, with an intermediate layer formed therebetween, adhesiveness of the DLC film against the cemented carbide alloy fixedly attached to the inner surface of the guide bush is further enhanced.

    摘要: A hard carbon film is formed in a vacuum vessel directly or through an intermediate layer for enhancing adhesion over an inner surface of a guide bush with a uniform thickness and excellent adhesion wherein the inner surface is in sliding contact with a workpiece and the guide bush is mounted on an automatic lathe for holding the workpiece rotatably and slidably in the axial direction near a cutting tool. Accordingly, the method comprises disposing the guide bush in a vacuum vessel, inserting an auxiliary electrode into the center bore forming the inner surface of the guide bush to be at a ground potential, introducing a gas containing carbon into the vacuum vessel through the gas inlet port after evacuating the vacuum vessel, and applying a DC voltage to the guide bush through a reactor, thereby producing a plasma in the vacuum vessel so that a hard carbon film of hydrogenated amorphous carbon is formed over the inner surface of the guide bush by a plasma CVD method.

The guide bush (11) has remarkably enhanced durability and prevents damaging the workpiece (51) and seizing that makes a machining operation impossible even when the guide bush (11) is used for an extended period of time and when the automatic lathe operates for heavy machining. The hard carbon film (15) having satisfactory adhesion to the inner surface (11b) can be efficiently formed in a uniform thickness over the inner surface (11b) by placing the guide bush (11) in a vacuum vessel, extending an auxiliary electrode in the center bore of the guide bush (11) and producing a plasma of a gas containing carbon.
