Abstract:
A device and method for steering a laser beam to a focal point in target tissue requires generating a laser beam. Diversions of the laser beam from a central beam path are minimized by a sequential arrangement of optical steering components. In order, the beam is first directed to the center of a z-scanning apparatus which will move the focal point in the medium in a z-direction. The beam is then passed to the center of a first galvanometric mirror which introduces focal point movements in the x-direction. A second galvanometric mirror then compensates for the x-direction movement by redirecting the beam to the center of a third galvanometric mirror where focal point movements in the y-direction are introduced.
Abstract:
A method and a device for detecting the clutch state in a motor vehicle, in particular during engine drag torque regulation, is described. A particularly simple and cost-effective method of detecting the clutch state is made possible by determining the engine speed and a wheel speed and by calculating a gear ratio therefrom. Threshold values for the overall gear ratio are stored in the system for at least each of the lower gears (e.g., the first through the third gear). The clutch state may be identified by comparing the calculated overall gear ratio with the threshold values of the particular gear.
Abstract:
A method and a device for protecting a torque converter of an automatic transmission from overheating during standing-start of a motor vehicle, a slipping wheel being decelerated by a traction control system by a braking intervention. To improve the protective function of the traction control system, the energy loss converted in the torque converter or a value proportional to it is calculated and the engine torque is reduced if a specified threshold value is exceeded.
Abstract:
A vehicle traction control system having capabilities for braking intervention and coefficient of friction detection is provided, a slipping wheel being braked by braking intervention if a slip threshold is exceeded. In order to improve the lateral stability of the vehicle when cornering on road surfaces having a low coefficient of friction, the slip threshold for the drive wheel on the outside of the curve is reduced independently of that of the drive wheel on the inside of the curve and is set to a lower value than that for the wheel on the inside of the curve.
Abstract:
A device and a method for traction control for a vehicle, the setpoint engine torque being reduced to a pre-control value if one drive wheel exceeds a specified slip threshold, the rate time being increased if the vehicle acceleration or speed exceeds a threshold value, the setpoint engine torque being increased during the rate time as a function of the vehicle acceleration or speed, and regulation of the slipping wheel being initiated after the end of the rate time.
Abstract:
A system for determining the height of the center of gravity of a vehicle includes an arrangement configured to determine a difference between wheel contact forces, an arrangement configured to determine a transverse acceleration, an arrangement configured to determine comparison values which compares the change in the difference between wheel contact forces with the change in the transverse acceleration, and an arrangement configured to evaluate a roll model which determines the height of the center of gravity from the comparison values. Furthermore, a corresponding method is for determining the height of the center of gravity of a vehicle.
Abstract:
A method and a system for operating a brake system of a motor vehicle having traction control are described. The brake system contains sensors which are assigned to the individual vehicle wheels and with which a quantity representing at least the driving and/or braking forces acting between the road surface and the vehicle wheel is detected for the respective vehicle wheel. For operation of the brake system having traction control, pressure quantities which describe the brake pressure established for the respective vehicle wheel are analyzed. The pressure quantities are determined as a function of the quantities detected by the sensors.
Abstract:
A movement of a vehicle is detected, using tire sensors, by evaluating detected, measured signals in an evaluating unit in such a manner, that the polarity of the measured signals, starting from the measured signals at vehicle standstill, is used as an indicator of the vehicle moving direction.
Abstract:
The coefficient of friction &mgr;s between the wheels of the vehicle and the road surface is identified as a function of the slip, and the maximum drive torque MAmax which can be transmitted is determined as a function of this slip-dependent coefficient of friction &lgr;. &lgr; is corrected when there is an increased slip requirement &lgr;erf as a result of the speed of the vehicle and/or the tire mixture used.
