Abstract: Disclosed herein an electronic brake system includes a first block comprising a master cylinder having a first master piston connected to a brake pedal and a first master chamber whose volume is changed by a displacement of the first master piston; a second block comprising a pedal simulator, a hydraulic pressure supply device that generates a hydraulic pressure by operating a hydraulic piston according to an electrical signal, and a hydraulic control unit comprising a first hydraulic circuit that controls a hydraulic pressure transferred to two wheel cylinders and a second hydraulic circuit that controls a hydraulic pressure transferred to the other two wheel cylinders, the second block disposed to be spaced apart from the first block; a plurality of electronic control units (ECUs) that controls various devices and valves based on hydraulic pressure information and displacement information of the brake pedal; and a connection line having one end connected to the first block and the other end connected to the second block; wherein the connection line has one end connected to the first master chamber and the other end thereof connected to the pedal simulator side.

The invention relates to operating a vehicle having an electro-hydraulic brake system. The vehicle can be operated in a manual and an autonomous driving mode. The brake system is divided into a first and a second hydraulic brake circuit. The two brake circuits can be hydraulically decoupled from one another by a circuit separating valve. The two brake circuits are each assigned to hydraulically enable at least one respective wheel brake of the vehicle. A brake pedal is brought into an at least partially actuated position during an autonomous driving mode.-

Abstract: A brake system for a vehicle includes a first axle pressure modulator (APM) for service-brake-chambers for a first vehicle-axle, a second axle pressure modulator for spring-brake-cylinders for a second vehicle-axle, the second APM being connected to an electronic-brake-control-unit, which is configured to issue a first electric-control-signal for controlling the first APM and a second electric-control-signal for controlling the second APM, an intelligent foot brake module, which is configured to issue a first pneumatic-control-signal for controlling the first APM and a second pneumatic-control-signal for controlling the second APM, an electronic parking brake controller, which is configured to issue a second pneumatic parking brake signal for controlling the spring-brake-cylinders, and a pressure control valve, which is configured to convert the second pneumatic parking brake signal into a first pneumatic parking brake signal for controlling the first APM.

Abstract: A braking system for a vehicle including front and rear wheels having wheel brakes includes a fluid displacement mechanism for supplying brake fluid to at least one of the wheel brakes. The fluid displacement mechanism includes a piston having a first position prior to braking and a second position for applying braking. A fluid accumulator is in fluid communication with the fluid displacement mechanism and stores brake fluid. A valve is in fluid communication with the fluid displacement mechanism and the accumulator and is configured to be closed while the piston moves from the second position towards the first position to prevent depletion of the accumulator.

Abstract: An aircraft includes a brake lever for receiving a pilot braking input as a lever travel of the brake lever, a braking wheel operatively coupled with the brake lever to brake the aircraft based on the lever travel, a brake actuator operatively coupled with the braking wheel to apply a braking force in response to a braking pressure provided to the brake actuator, and a brake pressure circuit. The brake pressure circuit is configured for: estimating a maximum braking pressure above which the braking wheel will skid with respect to a ground surface; scaling a lever gain of the brake lever to command the maximum braking pressure at a full travel of the brake lever such that a remaining brake lever travel indicates the amount of braking capability remaining for the aircraft; and braking the braking wheel based on the lever gain and the lever travel.

Abstract: A piston-cylinder unit includes a piston delimiting at least one working chamber, in which a first seal for sealing at least one first working chamber is arranged either between the piston and cylinder or between a plunger connected to the piston and the cylinder. A second seal is arranged between the first seal and the first working chamber, and the piston-cylinder unit further includes a first channel arranged in the wall of the cylinder or in the piston, which joins the first seal and the second seal in the inner chamber of the cylinder. The first channel and/or a hydraulic line connected thereto may have a throttle device and/or a valve device. An electronic control and regulating device may have a diagnosis or monitoring function for a possible defect or failure of a seal. Multiple hydraulic devices may have such piston-cylinder units and respective control and such regulating devices.

Abstract: A brake system may include an actuation device, in particular a brake pedal; a first piston-cylinder unit with two pistons, in particular an auxiliary piston and a second piston, in order to supply brake circuits with a pressure medium via a valve device, wherein one of the pistons, in particular the auxiliary piston, can be actuated by means of the actuation device; a second piston-cylinder unit comprising an electric motor-powered drive, a transmission, and at least one piston in order to supply pressure medium to at least one of the brake circuits via a valve device; and a motor pump unit with a valve device in order to supply pressure medium to the brake circuits. The brake system may further include a hydraulic travel simulator which is connected to a pressure or working chamber of the first piston-cylinder unit.
