摘要: Mapping apparatus includes a transmitter, which emits a beam comprising pulses of light, and a scanner, which is configured to scan the beam, within a predefined scan range, over a scene. A receiver receives the light reflected from the scene and to generate an output indicative of a time of flight of the pulses to and from points in the scene. A processor is coupled to control the scanner so as to cause the beam to scan over a selected window within the scan range and to process the output of the receiver so as to generate a 3D map of a part of the scene that is within the selected window.

摘要: In various embodiments described herein, an optical beam shaping arrangement is disclosed. In one example, the optical beam shaping arrangement comprises a collimator for receiving light from an optical source, and providing a more collimated output, and an optical plate for receiving the more collimated output, the optical plate comprises a two dimensional array of lenses on an input side and a corresponding two dimensional array of lenses on the opposite output side. In at least one embodiment, the lenses on the input side each have a focal point at a corresponding lens on the output side, and the lenses on the output side each have a focal point at a corresponding lens on the input side, and at least some of the lenses on the output side are tilted with respect to the general plane of the optical plate.

摘要: Apparatus and method for the amplification of a laser beam by pumping a homogenous composite source beam through an amplification medium. A slab crystalline active medium is side-pumped via a pump module having a laser diode bar and an optical assembly. The optical assembly has a fast axis collimator and a lens in the fast axis and an array of slow axis collimators and the lens in the slow axis. The lenses are spaced so that the individual source beams from the emitters are: imaged upon a first facet of the amplification medium; have a beam waist at or near the first facet; are sized to fill the first facet; substantially overlap on the first facet; and are directed so that peripheral source beams undergo total internal reflection on entering the amplification medium. Embodiments of multiple laser diode bars and optical assemblies are described together with double side pumping arrangements.

摘要: A laser apparatus includes a plurality of laser modules each generating a laser line in a working plane. The laser modules are juxtaposed so that the laser lines generated by the modules combine into a single laser line. Each of the laser modules includes at least one laser line generator and a laser line shaper. The laser line shaper includes an array of microlenses such that the final laser line generated by each laser module has, in the working plane, a power density profile with a width (L90) at 90% of the maximum power density and a width (L10) at 10% of the maximum power density. A ratio L90/L10 is between 1/15 and 1/5.
