摘要: A method for removing contaminants from an process stream that includes the use of reticulated material to filter the process stream. The reticulated material also facilitate process stream flow distribution in process units. The reticulated material can be packed with a void space between a substantial number of the reticulated material that can be varied to enhance filtration and flow distribution. The method of filtering also provides a method of removing contaminants leaving process equipment. The methods can be used on a variety of process streams and process equipment. The reticulated material can include ceramics, metallic materials, and chemical vapor deposition elements. The reticulated material can be of various shapes and sizes, and can also be catalytically active.

摘要: A method for preparing a crude oil solution for analysis, including adding water to a porous adsorbent to obtain a supported water substrate, having a plurality of water monolayers disposed on the porous adsorbent. The method further includes exposing the crude oil solution to the supported water substrate for a period of time; separating the supported water substrate from the crude oil solution; washing the supported water substrate with a water immiscible solvent to remove at least one hydrocarbon; displacing water from the plurality of water monolayers and the at least one interfacially active compound from the porous adsorbent with an alcohol and a co-solvent to obtain a displaced phase. The displaced phase can include the water, the at least one interfacially active compound, the alcohol, and the co-solvent. Finally, the method can include drying the displaced phase to isolate the at least one interfacially active compound.

摘要: A road surface covering system includes a road surface covering of concrete or asphalt, water permeable tiles disposed adjacent to an outer edge of the road surface covering and having a water conductivity of at least 7 inches of water per hour, and a subgrade bed of fill material including a porous sand. The porous sand includes at least 70% of a naturally occurring micaceous arkose rock material having at least 30 wt % of mica, and at least 50 vol % of the micaceous arkose rock material having a mean diameter of between 0.060 mm and 0.65 mm. The micaceous arkose rock material being previously kilned at a temperature of between 1100° C. and 1300° C.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a mineral-based porous granular material includes providing a starting material of at least 70 weigh % of an micaceous arkose rock material. The starting material is in a granular form having at least 50 volume % with a mean diameter of between about 0.060 mm and about 0.65 mm. The method includes placing the starting material into a bed on a support surface, placing the support surface containing the bed of the starting material into a kiln, and subjecting the bed of starting material within the kiln to a basic processing temperature of between about 1100° C. and about 1300° C. for a basic processing temperature processing time selected to transform at least 40 volume % of micaceous components in the micaceous arkose material into feldspar, and to evolve at least 30 volume % of metal sulfides within the feldspar from the feldspar as metallic oxides.

摘要: A sintered porous material with stronger corrosion resistance comprising three elements Ti, Si and C which constitute at least 90% of the weight of the porous material, wherein the porous material has 30-60% porosity, 0.5-50 μm average pore size, and at least 23 MPa tensile strength, wherein the porous material of 5 mm thickness under 0.05 MPa pressure has a pure water filtration flux of at least 1 t/m2·h, and a weight loss rate of no more than 1.5% after having been immersed in a 5 wt % hydrochloric acid solution at room temperature for 48 days.
