摘要: A manufacturing method of an acoustic coating in an ordered array of interconnected micro-channels intended to receive, on a reception surface, an incident acoustic wave with direction Ac normal to this surface, the method including depositing a sacrificial material on a substrate surface to form a three-dimensional scaffold of filaments, infiltrating at least one part of the three-dimensional scaffold with a thermosetting material, solidifying the thermosetting material to form a solidified material, and removing the sacrificial material from the solidified material to form the ordered array of interconnected micro-channels, the filaments forming by superimposed layers the three-dimensional scaffold being, for a given layer of filaments, oriented in a direction forming, in a plane formed by the layer, a first angle θ relative to the direction Ac of the incident acoustic wave, to confer acoustic properties to the ordered array of interconnected micro-channels and thus form the acoustic coating.

摘要: According to some aspects, techniques are provided for fabricating sinterable metallic parts through the application of directed energy to a build material. In particular, applying energy to a build material comprising a polymer mixed with a metal powder may cause the polymer to form a cohesive structure with the metal powder. As a result, the polymer acts as a “glue” to produce a metallic green part without local melting of the metal. The green part may subsequently be sintered to remove the polymer and produce a fully dense metal part. Optionally, a step of debinding may also be performed prior to, or simultaneously with, sintering.

摘要: A thermoplastic elastomer composition having: at least one elastomer component selected from the group made of elastomeric polymers (A) each of which has a side chain containing a hydrogen-bond cross-linkable moiety having a carbonyl-containing group and/or a nitrogen-containing heterocycle and has a glass-transition point of 25° C. or below, and elastomeric polymers (B) each of which contains a hydrogen-bond cross-linkable moiety and a covalent-bond cross-linking moiety in a side chain and has a glass-transition point of 25° C. or below; an organically modified clay, a content ratio of which is 20 parts by mass or less relative to 100 parts by mass of the elastomer component; and a polymer (Z) which is a polymer other than the elastomeric polymers (A) and (B), and an SP value of which is 9.0 or more and is greater by 0.5 or more than an SP value of the elastomer component.

摘要: Technologies are described for a method of making an encapsulated reactant having a desired shape or size. The method comprises providing solid reactant particles and an encapsulating material. The encapsulating material is heated above its solidification temperature to form a molten, semi-solid, or liquid encapsulating material. The solid reactant particles are added to the molten, semi-solid, or liquid encapsulating material and mixed to disperse the solid reactant particles in the encapsulating material and form a mixture. The mixture may be extruded or formed into the desired shape or size of the encapsulated reactant, or the mixture may be solidified and extruded, granulated, shredded, ground, or pressed into the desired shape or size.

摘要: A device, system, and method for creating a molded crayon body are provided. In embodiments, the device includes a receiving and positioning device having a channel for receiving a wax stick. The channel may be configured to receive and position a wax stick for melting by a melting component. The device may further include a positioning and/or adjustment component that raises and lowers a mold plate with respect to a front surface of the melting component. In some embodiments, the melting component includes a nozzle having a nozzle tip configured to transfer melted portions of the wax stick from the nozzle of the melting component to a mold on a mold plate. The mold component may also include a chilling mechanism for cooling a completed, molded crayon body.

摘要: A method of supporting a cantilevered component mounted to a hub by locating a cassette in proximity to the cantilevered component, the cassette defining a volume for filling with an encapsulant; filling the volume with an encapsulant material; and causing the encapsulant to solidify to the cantilevered component to support the cantilevered component. The cantilevered component is preferably a blade on a bladed disc and the encapsulant provides support to change the vibration response of the blade during a subsequent machining step.
