Abstract: An example first server host includes processor circuitry to: connect a virtual network interface card (vNIC) of the first server host to a first physical network interface card (pNIC) and a second pNIC of the first server host; establish an inter-switch link between first and second switches, the first switch and the first server host in a first network fabric, the second switch and a second server host in a second network fabric; and cause transmission of a first and second network packets from the vNIC of the first server host, the first and second network packets to be delivered to the second server host via the inter-switch link, the first network packet to be transmitted via the first pNIC when utilization of the first pNIC does not satisfy a threshold, the second network packet to be transmitted via the second pNIC when the utilization satisfies the threshold.

Abstract: A disclosed example of managing a network includes a packet receiver to receive a packet at a second switch from a first switch via an inter-switch link between the first and second switches; a packet analyzer to determine whether the packet includes a load-based teaming (LBT) egress control value; a packet transmitter to handle the packet according to an LBT policy when the packet analyzer determines the packet does not include the LBT egress control value; and a packet modifier to terminate the packet at the second switch when the packet analyzer determines the packet does include the LBT egress control value.

Abstract: This application provides a channel access indication method and device. The method includes: receiving, by a first communications device, a channel synchronization request sent by a second communications device, where the channel synchronization request is used to request the first communications device to send a synchronization frame to the second communications device, and a wake-up receiver is configured for the second communications device; and according to the channel synchronization request and a time at which the second communications device is woken up and that is learned by the first communications device based on preset signaling, sending, by the first communications device when a channel is idle, the synchronization frame to the woken-up second communications device, where the synchronization frame is used to instruct the woken-up second communications device to access the channel after receiving the synchronization frame.

Abstract: A method of multicasting packets by a forwarding element that includes several packet replicators and several egress pipelines. Each packet replicator receives a data structure associated with a multicast packet that identifies a multicast group. Each packet replicator identifies a first physical egress port of a first egress pipeline for sending the multicast packet to a member of the multicast group. The first physical egress port is a member of LAG. Each packet replicator determines that the first physical egress port is not operational and identifies a second physical port in the LAG for sending the multicast packet to the member of the multicast group. When a packet replicator is connected to the same egress pipeline as the second physical egress, the packet replicator provides the identification of the second physical egress port to the egress pipeline to send the packet to the multicast member. Otherwise the packet replicator drops the packet.

Abstract: Techniques for loop prevention while allowing multipath in a virtual L2 network are described. In an example, a network virtualization device can generate a first L2 bridge protocol data unit by applying a first loop detection protocol specific to only the first port and the first host machine. The network virtualization device can transmit, to the first compute instance via the first port, a first frame that includes the first L2 BPDU. The network virtualization device can receive, from the first compute instance via the first port, a second frame. The network virtualization device can determine that the second frame comprises the first L2 BPDU. The network virtualization device can determine that a loop exists between the network virtualization device and the first compute instance based on the first loop detection protocol and the first L2 BPDU of the second frame.

A first machine is configured to receive, via the bridge, an availability status and resource allocation information of each second machine and publish, on the Pub-Sub channel of the first supercluster, the availability status and the resource allocation information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing multicast group (MCG) membership relative to partition membership in a high performance computing environment. In allowing a subnet manager of a local subnet to be instructed that all ports that are members of the relevant partition should be set up as members for a specific multicast group, the SM can perform a more efficient multicast-routing process. It is also possible to limit the IB client interaction with subnet administration conventionally required to handle join and leave operations. Additionally, subnet manager overhead can be reduced by creating a spanning tree for the routing of multicast packets that includes each of the partition members added to the multicast group, instead of creating a spanning tree after each multicast group join request is received, as conventionally required.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an on-chip network design method for a distributed parallel operation algorithm. According to a distributed parallel operation algorithm of an on-chip network, the on-chip network is divided into two layers, including a unicast network and a multicast network, where the unicast network is configured to implement point-to-point propagation between nodes and transmit independent operation data required by operation nodes to each operation node in a form of unicast; and the multicast network is a customized multicast network for the distributed parallel operation algorithm and configured to transmit common operation data to all the operation nodes, such that a data packet in the network is efficiently transmitted through a combination of the unicast network and the multicast network. By designing a multicast tree transmission architecture for the distributed parallel operation algorithm, a bidirectional replication node or a receiving node is disposed in each operation node.

Abstract: Techniques and architecture are described for providing broadcast/multicast support using VXLAN in and among private on-premises/cloud networks and public cloud networks by defining peer groups comprising VXLAN tunnel endpoints (VTEPs) within clustered network security devices. For example, a static peer group comprising two or more virtual extensible local access network (VXLAN) tunnel end points (VTEPs) is defined. The two or more VTEPs may each comprise a data interface of a network security device. Based at least in part on the static peer group, an overlay network comprising the two or more VTEPs is defined. A network security device discovers available VTEPs within the static peer group. The network security device establishes a mesh network of available VTEPs.
