Abstract: An Ethernet cable assembly including a cable with nine elongated conductors, a first connector and a second connector located on opposing ends of the cable, and a coupler for electrically coupling with one or both of the connectors. The connectors may each include nine pin receptacles electrically coupled with one of the elongated conductors. The nine receptacles may be arranged with one center receptacle surrounded by eight outer receptacles, symmetrically arranged about a line of symmetry passing through the center receptacle, such that when identical first or second connectors of another cable faces one of the first and second connectors, complementary crossover pairs of the receptacles match up with positive receptacles matching positive receptacles and negative receptacles matching negative receptacles. To couple these identical Ethernet connectors with each other, the coupler may have pins simply passing from one side of the coupler housing to another, without any crossover hardware required therein.

Abstract: A block-out device includes a locker and a key. The locker has a hollow housing in a shape corresponding to a socket of a cable port for engagement, a locker hole at a front surface thereof and a latch body connecting to a rear surface of the housing. The latch body has a rear section extended upwards toward a front surface of the housing and then downwards to form a displaceable piece parallel with the front surface of the housing with a holding section at a top of the displaceable piece and a block facing toward an inner end of the locker hole. The key has its front section arranged correspondingly to a shape of the locker hole to be inserted therein and rotated for unlocking. An eccentric block is further arranged at the front section of the key correspondingly to the block on the displaceable piece for removing the locker from the socket of the cable port in operation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for tuning crosstalk and return loss are provided. In the method and apparatus, a filter tunes return loss caused by a first external terminal and a second external terminal to compensate for a capacitive load induced by sizes of and a proximity between the first and second external terminals. The filter decouples the tuning of the return loss from tuning a magnitude and a phase of a crosstalk between a first transmission line network and a second transmission line network such that the return loss is tuned with minimal impact on the crosstalk.

Abstract: Communications plugs are provided which include a printed circuit board having a plurality of elongated conductive traces and a plurality of plug blades. Each plug blade has a first section that extends along a top surface of the printed circuit board and a second section that extends along a front edge of the printed circuit board. Additionally, each plug blade may have a thickness that is at least twice the thickness of the elongated conductive traces. The plug blades may be low profile plug blades that are manufactured separately from the printed circuit board.

Abstract: A connection device and method of manufacturing the same is provided. The connection device includes a housing that includes a first face, into which a plug is introduced, and a second face that is formed to be in contact with the first face, a connection hole that extends to the inside of the housing from the first face, an opening that extends from the first face to the second face to partially expose the connection hole on at least the second face, and a sealing member that is arranged on an outer peripheral surface of the housing to surround a region where the opening is formed. When mounted on the case member of the electronic device, the sealing member may form a dustproof and waterproof structure between the inner peripheral surface of the case member and the outer peripheral surface of the housing.

Abstract: A power over Ethernet (PoE) interface for 10GBase-T Ethernet includes at least one communication channel Ethernet interface including an autotransformer having a center tap for coupling direct current (DC) power. A combination of the geometry of the toroid core of the autotransformer and in some embodiments of a common mode choke, as well as the wire twisting, the wire distribution and the wire routing allow maximizing bandwidth up to or greater than 500 MHz for 10GBase-T performance by increasing the coupling and reducing capacitance across the wires, and results in return and insertion losses and OCL that meet anticipated standards.
