摘要: Provided herein are compositions for delivering one or more cannabinoids to the skin of a subject and methods of using the compositions to deliver the one or more cannabinoids to the skin of a subject. The compositions contain a carrier that facilitates the delivery and permeation of cannabinoids to and through the skin. The carriers of the compositions contain squalane or mixtures of squalane and hemisqualane. The compositions described herein may serve as the base for the preparation of various cosmetics or various pharmaceuticals. The cosmetics or pharmaceuticals may be used to reduce inflammation, control pain, or prevent aging of the skin of a subject.

摘要: Provided herein are compositions and methods of integrating one or more exogenous donor nucleic acids into one or more exogenous landing pads engineered into a host cell's genome. In certain embodiments, the exogenous landing pads and exogenous donor nucleic acids comprise standardized, compatible homology regions so that exogenous donor nucleic acids can integrate into any of the landing pads, independent of the genomic sequences surrounding the landing pads. In certain embodiments, the methods comprise contacting the host cell comprising landing pads with one or more exogenous donor nucleic acids, and a nuclease capable of causing a double-strand break within the landing pads, and recovering a host cell comprising one or more exogenous donor nucleic acids integrated in any of the landing pads.

摘要: Methods and compositions for stabilization and subsequent hydrogenation of a microbial-derived immiscible olefin are described. The methods comprise separating immiscible olefin from a mixture comprising an aqueous solution, microbial cells and immiscible olefin thereby forming a crude olefin composition; purifying the crude olefin composition thereby forming a purified olefin composition; and adding a phenolic antioxidant to the purified olefin composition wherein the phenolic antioxidant is a phenol derivative containing an unfused phenyl ring with one or more hydroxyl substituents. The methods further comprise reacting the purified olefin composition with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogen catalyst such that hydrogen saturates at least one double bond in the olefin. Hydrogenated compositions produced by the methods are further provided.
