Abstract:
A method and system for planning repair or overhaul of an aircraft engine. This invention retrieves engine configuration data for a plurality of life limited parts for the aircraft engine, retrieves service requirement data for at least one of the plurality of life limited parts for the aircraft engine, and automatically determines a remaining life for the at least one of the plurality of life limited parts of the aircraft engine from the configuration data and the service requirement data.
Abstract:
A process for producing a calcium-supplemented milk drink, by adding to cow's milk, a whey mineral being of a calcium content of 2 to 8% by weight and produced by removing the protein and lactose from whey and concentrating the resulting whey by ultrafiltration and/or microfiltration. By the process, there is produced a calcium-supplemented milk drink having good flavor with no precipitate of calcium salts or being provided with attractive flavor, and being capable of passing through the sterilization process to be prepared into a commercially aseptic state.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for the secondary recovery of oil from an oil-bearing stratum having a zone of high fluid permeability, in which this zone is plugged by introducing into the stratum a gelable solution comprising an alkaline material, a polyphenolic vegetable material such as mimosa tannin extract and formaldehyde, the last compound being present as free formaldehyde, paraformaldehyde, a phenol-formaldehyde resole, hexamethylenetetramine or urea-formaldehyde concentrate. The gelable solution has a pH of at least 9.5 and may optionally include a viscosifier. The gelable solutions are relatively insensitive to brines or temperature and gel to produce mechanically strong gels, even in the presence of oil-wet minerals. If desired, the alkaline material can be an alkali metal carbonate, and the use of such carbonates permits the permeability of the plugged high permeability zone to be adjusted after formation of the gel by treating the gel with acid.
Abstract:
A campaign management system having a user interface that enables a content provider to initiate a request for a short code campaign, and identify information relating to the requested short code campaign; a first communication interface for communicating with a code registry; and a second communication interface for communicating with one or more carriers, each of which is capable of communicating with mobile devices using short code messaging. The campaign management system further includes a controller configured to receive the information for the requested short code campaign, reserve a short code with a code registry for use in the campaign via the first communication interface, activate the reserved short code with the one or more carriers via the second communication interface, and process messages received by the one or more carriers from end-users via the activated short code.
Abstract:
An artificial turf remover and infill separator comprising an artificial turf removing station, an infill separating station and an artificial turf collection station. The infill separating station comprises rotatable spinning devices comprises corners, wherein each corner comprises chain links. The artificial turf remover and infill separator is utilized by positioning a strip of artificial turf on an angular ramp, conveying the artificial turf over a first pair of rotatable rollers, conveying the artificial turf between a second pair of rotatable rollers, separating infill from the artificial turf via fin-shaped picks, square-shaped rotatable diggers and the rotatable spinning devices, wherein the chain links jostle the infill material from the artificial turf onto a first and second infill collection conveyor belt. The artificial turf is then conveyed over a first and second base roller, between a rear pair of counter-rotating rollers and then wound around a final artificial turf collection roller.
Abstract:
A system and method for managing, distributing, and processing promotional offers is provided. The system includes at least one consumer interface that enables communication between the promotional offer processing system and a plurality of consumers; a consumer information database for storing consumer data for a plurality of consumer profiles; an offer catalog having a plurality of offers; a product catalog having product codes corresponding to products associated with each of the accepted offers; and an offer management module. The offer management module is configured to identify one or more of the plurality of offers to be provided to a consumer; cause the identified offers to be transmitted to the consumer; receive an indication from the consumer that the first consumer has accepted at least one of the provided offers; identify product codes corresponding to products associated with each of the accepted offers; provide the identified product codes to a transaction management system; receive information identifying whether any of the identified product codes were contained in consumer purchase transactions; and process each accepted offer for which the consumer has met the terms for the offer.
Abstract:
A non-circular can end for a container having walls which form an opening includes a corner-mounted pull tab opener secured to a severable panel portion by an integral rivet. The corner-mounted opener facilitates easy opening of the can end. A pair of generally parallel bead recesses on either side of the integral rivet stiffen the severable panel portion in order to facilitate bending of the panel aft of the rivet to easily open the can end. The severable panel optionally further includes a mustache-shaped scoreline to reduce the amount of force required to lift the opener. Tooling and a conversion press for converting shells into the non-circular can ends are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An internal fluid cooling system for a gas turbine aerofoil (2) comprises a plurality of multi-pass cooling arrangements each of which consists of a serpentine passage (50,52,54 & 48,56,58) in the interior of the aerofoil (2). The cooling fluid—in particular air—is supplied to an inlet end (22,24) of each passage (50,52,54 & 48,56,58) and exhausted through a multiplicity of discharge holes (60,62,64,68) to provide tip, leading edge, trailing edge and surface film cooling. The inlet end (22) of a first serpentine passage (50,52,54) is positioned close to the leading edge (26) and flows rearwards while the inlet end (24) of the second serpentine passage (48,56,58) is positioned close to the trailing edge (28) and flows forwards. These serpentine passages are disposed side-by-side, one adjacent the pressure surface (14) and the other adjacent the suction surface (16) on opposite sides of a main load carrying member (30) which comprises a major part of the internal structure (30,36,38,40,42,44) of the aerofoil (2).
