    摘要: A lock-up clutch having high durability and high reliability of operation is provided in the present invention. Said lock-up clutch comprises a pump impeller connected mechanically with a prime mover, a power shaft, a turbine runner which transmits a driving force given by said pump impeller through a fluid to the power shaft, a stator which forces the circulating flow of a fluid to said pump impeller from said turbine runner, and a one-way clutch which restricts unilaterally the direction of rotation of said stator, wherein the lock-up clutch for a hydraulic unit featuring the provision of a lock-up clutch installed between said pump impeller and said turbine runner to transmit input from the power shaft of said prime mover to said turbine runner by direct, mechanical connection without a medium of a fluid, and of a vibration damper absorbing the torsional vibration from the prime mover or the power shaft when said lock-up clutch is operated, and the installation of said vibration damper in the outside of a circulation flow passage near the inlet caliber of said turbine runner.

    摘要: An air-purifying filter includes a carrier base and a TiO.sub.2 -Pd composite catalyst supported on the carrier base. CO in air treated by the filter is adsorbed onto the Pd surface and thus decomposed by oxidization to CO.sub.2, whereas sulfur compounds in the air are adsorbed onto the Pd surface and then transferred to the TiO.sub.2 surface where they are decomposed by oxidization to SO.sub.4.sup.-2 when the TiO.sub.2 is subjected to irradiation. Preferably, Pd exists in a relatively small quantity at a first side of the carrier base in the vicinity of a light source and in a greater quantity at a second side opposite the first side. The first side is preferably located upstream relative to flow of air treated by the filter. An air-purifier utilizing this filter is mounted in an automobile, preferably on a rear shelf or in a trunk compartment. The air-purifier has a light source for irradiating the filter, and an exhaust port, arranged at a position to utilize negative pressure of the automobile generated during driving, to exhaust any substances desorbed from the composite catalyst to the outside of the automobile.

    摘要: A 5-speed automatic transmission for a vehicle having a highly efficient top gear, a compact construction and a wide overall range of gear ratios. The automatic transmission has a speed changer which provides five gear stages, namely two speeds on the speed decreasing side and two speeds on the speed increasing side with a direct-coupled gear therebetween. The speed changer includes a ring gear connected to an output shaft, a first carrier, a first sun gear, a second carrier connected to the first carrier, a stepped pinion gear supported by these two carriers, and a sun gear meshing with the pinion gear. The first carrier is connected to an input shaft by a clutch and the first sun gear is connected to the input shaft by a clutch. The first sun gear may be stopped by a first brake, a second brake stops the second sun gear and a third brake is provided to stop a third sun gear. Top gear is achieved by meshing of the pinion gear with the second sun gear and the ring gear. Top gear is thus achieved with the equivalent of only one planetary gear set of intermeshing elements and without loss of efficiency. Also, the arrangement of the three planetary gear sets of the transmission is such that one planetary gear set can be easily removed to make a 4-speed transmission derived from the 5-speed transmission of the invention.

    摘要: A driving force controller for an electric motor vehicle which suppresses changes in behavior of a vehicle when a right or left driving wheel experiences trouble and detects vehicle conditions to independently control the driving force of each wheel so as not to deviate from a predetermined range. The driving force controller computes a driving force for each wheel in accordance to a demand value for driving force and a detected vehicle traveling condition to drive each wheel independently by electric motors. Motor drivers control the motors so that each motor generates power corresponding to the value of driving force computed therefor. A driving demand detector detects the value of driving force demanded for the vehicle and a vehicle condition detector detects a traveling condition of the vehicle. Wheel driving condition detectors detect conditions at the wheels. A computer computes the values of driving force to be provided at each wheel in accordance with the value of driving force demanded and the detected vehicle traveling conditions and corrects the values computed for individual wheel driving forces when a vehicle traveling condition or a wheel driving condition exceeds a predetermined range.

    摘要: A shifter with a manual speed selecting mechanism for a vehicular automatic transmission. The shifter includes a stationary member mounted on a vehicle body; a rocking retainer supported in a manner to rock on a first axis extending through and fixed by the stationary member, for transmitting motion of a shift lever to the automatic transmission. The shift lever is supported for rotation on the first axis and on a second axis, which is perpendicular to the first axis, and is brought into and out of engagement with the rocking retainer when rotated on the second axis. A switch is provided for detecting the position of the shift lever. A lock plate is supported on the rocking retainer for bringing the rocking retainer into and out of engagement with the stationary member when actuated by the rotation of the shift lever on the second axis.
