摘要: A method of diagnosing a combustion state in a furnace of a boiler wherein the shape of the root part of a flame (namely, the part closer to the fuel jet port of a burner) is picked up by an image sensor or the like, and the combustion state is diagnosed from the shape. Concretely, the relationships between the shapes of the root parts of flames and the combustion states of the furnace, e.g., the amount of CO or the amount of NOx are experimentally or empirically ensured and are stored in advance, one of the patterns of the stored flame shapes is selected on the basis of the shape of the root part of the flame actually observed, and the combustion state of the furnace is judged the combustion state of the selected flame shape.

摘要: In a rotary machine mounted on a rotary shaft journaled in journal bearings, a source of unusual vibration of the rotary machine is identified on the basis of the results of the steps of (1) subjecting a shaft vibration signal to frequency analysis for analyzing its frequency distribution, and (2) analyzing the amplitude of the shaft vibration signal and the variation rate of a phase signal of a component related to the shaft rotation frequency among the frequency components of the shaft vibration signal. The present invention is usefully applicable to diagnosis of vibration of a rotary shaft of a large-size turbine or a generator in a power plant by continuously monitoring the shaft vibration for immediately automatically detecting unusual vibration of the rotary machine in the event of occurrence of such unusual vibration. The usefulness is more enhanced when the signal indicative of vibration of the rotary shaft is converted into a digital signal to be analyzed by a digital computer which identifies the source of unusual vibration.

摘要: A fault-detecting apparatus comprises a model simulating the input-output characteristics of an object for fault detection. The model includes statics and dynamics and is impressed with the same input as the object for fault detection. The output of the model is compared with the output of the object for fault detection, and if the deviation is great, it is indicated that a fault has generated in the object for fault detection. In order to determine whether or not correction of the model is possible, the degree of the deviation is determined from an average value of the time-series signals produced from various parts of the fault-detecting apparatus during a certain period of time. For this purpose, a variation is calculated, for example; and if it is smaller than a predetermined value V.sub.L, a normal condition is judged and the statics correction is considered possible, while if the variation is larger than V.sub.H (which in turn is larger than V.sub.L), a transient condition is judged, and the dynamics correction is considered possible. Correction of the characteristics is effected by processing the data applied to the fault-detecting apparatus for the previous certain period of time.

摘要: Knocking detecting in an internal combustion engine uses, a vibration sensor detecting engine vibrations; and insert for taking-in output vibration signals from the vibration sensor in a plurality of intervals in a time sequential manner during every explosion stroke of the internal combustion engine; performing a digital frequency analysis on the taken-in output vibration signals in the respective sequential intervals; setting a main resonance frequency necessary for knocking occurrence judgement based upon the instant operating condition of the internal combustion engine; calculating knocking indexes for the digital frequency-analyzed output vibration signals in the respective sequential intervals based upon the set main resonance frequency component; comparing the largest knocking index calculated with a predetermined threshold value determined by a background vibration level and a slice level thereof to determine occurrence of knocking; and renewing the respective background vibration levels using the calculated knocking indexes when no knocking occurrence is determined. With such an operation a knocking detection with a high S/N ratio and a high sensitivity is achieved.

摘要: The present specification discloses a diagnosis system and an optimum control unit for an internal combustion engine. The basic concept of the present invention resides in that a random retrieved signal of which auto correlation function is an impulse shape is superposed on a signal of an internal combustion engine, said superposed signal is used to measure a change of an operation state of the internal combustion engine, and an optimum direction of a control value is detected by a correlation between said measured value and retrieved signal. This method includes the steps of superposing a search signal for fine adjusting a fuel flow quantity value and an ignition timing on a fuel flow quantity signal and an ignition timing signal respectively, applying the fuel flow quantity signal and the ignition timing signal superposed with said search signal respectively to the internal combustion engine, detecting a value of a parameter showing a revolution number or an operation state of the internal combustion engine in response to the superposed signals, detecting a correlation between the detected value and the search signal, and carrying out diagnosis or control of the internal combustion engine based on the detected correlation.
