    摘要: A weft knitting machine having a movable sinker capable of securing a large space at a needle bed near a knitting fabric knitting area and making a pause in the state of stopping action on the knitting fabric knitting area. A sinker operating cam mechanism (10) installed in a carriage acts on the butt (12c) of a sinker jack (12) to move the sinker jack (12) backward from a mouth part (2) so that the acting part (8c) of the movable sinker (8) can retract from the mouth part (2). The sinker jack (12) is locked to a moved back position by a locking mechanism (16). Since a wire (17) passed through a needle plate (5) is utilized to lock the sinker jack (12) in the locking mechanism (16), the locking mechanism (16) can be reduced in size. To lock the sinker jack (12) to the wire (17), the sinker jack (12) comprises a projection (12f).

Data representing relationships between a gauge texture and a stitch loop length being obtained after kitting and the relationships between these gauge texture and stitch loop length and the length and tension of the stretch yarn (2) being fed at the time of knitting are collected previously and stored in the memory (21) in the form of table data. The knitting controller (20) sets control target values of the length and tension of the stretch yarn (2) for a yarn feed controller (23) such that a gauge texture and a stitch loop length being specified by an input unit (22) can be attained, with reference to the table data stored in the memory (21).

The pin 4 is guided to the engagement point 8 by guide portions 13a, 12a of oscillating plates 13, 12, and abuts on a tip portion 10c of an oscillating piece 10, which is engaged with the front side of the pin 4. The oscillating plate 12 also departs from the pin 4, and a tip portion 12c ascends to be engaged with the rear side of the pin 4.

Thereafter, top and bottom coordinates of a circumscribed rectangular frame are determined respectively by searching respective image data located at the top and bottom positions among plural image data including at least one bit of black pixel located on the upper and lower sides of the specified image data, wherein respective bits of black pixel of plural image data are substantially continuously connected in a longitudinal direction, and then, leftmost and rightmost coordinates of the circumscribed rectangular frame are determined based on histogram data composed of either logical products or logical sums of respective bits in the transverse direction.
