    Abstract: A light emitting device includes a light emitting element having an upper face and lateral faces; a light transmissive member covering at least a portion of the upper face of the light emitting element and transmitting light emitted from the light emitting element; a first reflector covering at least a portion of lateral faces of the light transmissive member; and a second reflector covering the lateral faces of the light emitting element. The first reflector includes a first bottom face and a second bottom face. A plane in which the first bottom face of the first reflector extends is different than a plane in which a lower face of the light transmissive member extends. The second bottom face of the first reflector is located inward of the first bottom face of the first reflector, and is coplanar with the lower face of the light transmissive member. The first bottom face of the first reflector is covered by and in contact with the second reflector.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a planar light source includes: providing a wiring substrate including: an insulating layer defining a first through-hole and a second through-hole that are separated from each other, and a first wiring layer and a second wiring layer that are disposed below the insulating layer, wherein the first wiring layer is separated from the first through-hole and the second wiring layer is separated from the second through-hole, and wherein, in a top plan view, the first wiring layer and the second wiring layer are arranged at two opposite sides with respect to the first through-hole and the second through-hole; disposing a light guide member and a light source above the wiring substrate; and forming (i) a first wiring member that fills the first through-hole, and (ii) a second wiring member that is separated from the first wiring member and fills the second through-hole.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a light-emitting device includes providing a transparent member having a protrusion formed at an upper surface of the transparent member. A first resin portion is placed on the protrusion in which the first resin portion has a solid form and is made from a first resin material of which the viscosity decreases when heated. A light-emitting element is placed on the first resin portion, the light-emitting element is caused to be self-aligned with respect to the protrusion by reducing a viscosity of the first resin portion by heating to a first temperature. The first resin portion is solidified by cooling.

    Abstract: A light emitting module includes: a light guide member including: an emission region defined by a sectioning groove, a light source placement part located in the emission region, and a light adjusting hole that, in a schematic top view, is located between the sectioning groove and the light source placement part; and a light source disposed in the light source placement part. A refractive index of an inside of the light adjusting hole is lower than a refractive index of the light guide member.
