摘要: The invention is directed to methods for the propagation or cultivation of cells including preparing a cell culture substrate, wherein the cell culture substrate includes a substrate and a layer formed by surface modification. The layer includes a polymer containing an amino group. The polymer is produced by reacting a polymer represented by formula (II): with a polymer having at least one amino group, —NH2, capable of forming a Schiff base in a monomer of formula (II), thereby forming a polymer layer constituting the layer formed by surface modification. “n” in Formula (II) is 0 or a positive integer, and m is a positive integer. n and m represent the degree of polymerization. Formula (II) is formed by chemical vapor deposition of formyl[2.2]paracyclophane. The methods further include providing cells in a medium; inoculating the cells onto the cell culture substrate; and culturing the cells, wherein the cells adhere to the cell culture substrate.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a cooler for cooling both sides (top and bottom surfaces) of a semiconductor device, wherein the variation of pressing force on flat cooling tubes holding a semiconductor device is reduced, thereby uniformly dissipating the heat generated by the semiconductor device. When the holding plates press the flat cooling tubes and semiconductor modules by tightening the nut, the dimensional tolerances in the stacking direction are absorbed by the deformable portions in the inlet and outlet headers. A spacer may be employed inside the flat cooling tubes in order to suppress the deformation of the flat cooling tubes along the stacking direction.

摘要: The present invention provides an error-correcting encoder and an error-correcting decoder which encode/decode a plurality of information symbols in parallel with a reduced number of shifts, which enables a reduction in the processing time. The error-correcting encoder of the invention includes a shift register including stages equal to a predetermined number of check symbols for inputting different information symbols in parallel from a plurality of input terminals. The encoder also includes a Galois field multiplier for multiplying each coefficient and a Galois field adder to obtain the predetermined number of check symbols from the information symbols. The encoder can generate the predetermined number of check symbols with shifts, the number of which is reduced according to the number of parallel inputs. The syndrome generator of the error-correcting decoder of the invention includes a plurality of Galois field multipliers which multiply the coefficients for calculating syndromes for inputting different code symbols in parallel from a plurality of input terminals. The syndrome generator also includes a Galois field adder and a shift register to obtain the predetermined syndrome generating polynomial. The syndrome generator can obtain the desired syndromes with shifts, the number of which is reduced according to the number of parallel inputs.

摘要: An optical information reading apparatus has an optical system which includes a concave mirror. The concave mirror has first and second concave portions and a planar portion. Reflection optical axes of the first and second concave portions are set offset relative to a reflection optical axis of the planar portion. This makes it possible to arrange a light source and a light-receiving sensor with a given proper interval therebetween in a longitudinal direction of the apparatus so that a thickness of the apparatus can be reduced. The first concave portion may form a portion of a first ellipsoidal surface of revolution and the second concave portion may form a portion of a second ellipsoidal surface of revolution. The first and second ellipsoidal surfaces share a rotation axis and focal points located at conjugate points on the rotation axis. The first concave portion is located closer to a rotating mirror than the second concave portion, and diameters of the second ellipsoidal surface are set greater than those of the first ellipsoidal surface. This also contributes to reducing the thickness of the apparatus.
