    摘要: The invention relates to a method and a plant for producing asphalt mixture and is directed in particular to the recycling of recovered asphalt. In order to achieve recycling of up to 100% recovered asphalt and to produce an asphalt mixture with the required quality, it is provided according to the invention that at least the drying and heating of the asphalt granulate and/or aggregates are carried out in a low oxygen atmosphere. The low oxygen atmosphere is achieved by supplying low oxygen gases with an oxygen content of maximum 10%, preferably with an oxygen content of maximum 5%. The conveyance of the heated and dried asphalt granulate and/or aggregates, the siloing and mixing with bitumen to form a new, incorporation-ready asphalt mixture also usefully take place in a low oxygen atmosphere.

    摘要: Systems and methods for receiving used asphalt materials, heating the materials, dynamically tumbling the materials into a recycled granulized form, and selectively providing the recycled asphalt for use. An asphalt recycling system is used that is configured to receive used asphalt materials, including RAP and asphalt chunks. Inside the system, the asphalt materials are heated in a heating chamber, such as by natural gas, propane, or another heat source. The heating chamber warms the metal in the chute, and material in the chute can be exposed to exhaust gas, which preheats the asphalt material. The material is then delivered through the chute and onto a conveyer belt, which drops down into a rotating drum. The drum includes a material classifier ring and a plurality of paddles that are used to tumble the heated asphalt material until it becomes generally granularized. The drum can be manipulated (e.g., tilted, etc.) so that the material can be maintained in the drum until the asphalt material is ready to be reused.

    摘要: The subject invention relates to a process for coating aggregate which is particularly useful in making asphalt concrete to provide the aggregate with a high level of resistance to stripping by water, which comprises: (1) mixing the aggregate with latex to form a latex/aggregate mixture, wherein said latex is comprised of water, an emulsifier, a polymer and a water-soluble divalent metal salt; (2) heating the latex/aggregate mixture to a temperature which is within the range of about 66.degree. C. to about 232.degree. C.; (3) maintaining the latex/aggregate mixture at said elevated temperature for a time which is sufficient to reduce the moisture content of the latex/aggregate mixture below about 0.7 weight percent and to allow the polymer in the latex to crosslink on the surface of the aggregate to produce the coated aggregate.

    摘要: A method for blending and windrowing hot plant mix asphalt which has been deposited onto a roadway in preparation for paving the roadway utilizes a V-shaped plow formed by a first plowing member extending in a first direction, and a second plowing member extending in a second direction, with rearward ends of each of the first and second plowing member being connected at a vertex and the opposite forward ends being spaced apart to form the open side of the V-shaped plow. The V-shaped plow further comprises an opening in the vertex and a movable gate for adjusting the size of the opening in the vertex. The V-shaped plow is further provided with an attachment device for attaching the V-shaped plow to an earth moving implement, such as a front end loader. Movement of the V-shaped plow along the roadway causes the hot asphalt to be thoroughly blended and deposited from the opening into a perfect windrow having the desired amount of asphalt for paving the roadway at issue.

    摘要: An asphalt roofing material recycling system and method is used to recycle asphalt materials, such as asphalt shingles and tar paper that include granules, fibers or other particles. The asphalt material is simultaneously heated and milled in a heated milling apparatus, such as a heated ball mill, to reduce the asphalt material granules to a fine mesh in suspension in liquid asphalt. Excess moisture is removed from the asphalt material being recycled, either during heating and milling by continuously venting the heated milling apparatus, or before the heating and milling in a drying apparatus. The heated milling apparatus preferably includes a rotatable milling vessel rotated at an acute angle with respect to the horizontal plane and having an opening that provides continuous venting. The rotatable milling vessel includes a plurality of mixing members, such as rods or paddles, extending from an interior surface and preferably arranged in a helical pattern to force the asphalt material away from the opening. The asphalt material recycling system further includes a storage apparatus for storing reduced asphalt material and a filter apparatus for filtering reduced asphalt and removing foreign objects therefrom.
