The wireless communications unit includes a receiver for receiving the signal in a first and a second time interval to provide, respectively, a first and a second signal; and a channel processor for assessing a relative channel metric corresponding to the first and second signal, the relative channel metric indicative of the transmission performance of a transmission mode. A corresponding method and base transmitter is also arranged and adapted for adjusting a transmission mode based on measured transmission performance and includes a transmitter for sending the signal in the first and second time interval and a base channel processor for determining a channel metric corresponding to the first and second signal, the channel metric indicative of the transmission performance; the transmitter further sending a control signal corresponding to the transmission mode adjusted according to the transmission performance.

摘要： An improved web material dispenser that is designed to dispense web material, such as toilet tissue or the like. The dispenser is able to retain a roll containing tissue at a dispensing position until the tissue has been exhausted from the roll. The dispenser senses that the tissue is exhausted from the roll, and only then permits a reserve roll to be rotated into a dispensing position. Thus, the dispenser ensures that the tissue from each roll is used up before permitting access to a reserve roll. The invention also provides a new web material roll that utilizes a “double core”, as well as a method of making the “double core”.

摘要： Flip chips with improved solder bump strength are provided. A solder mask layer is placed and patterned on a front side of a wafer of semiconductor chips with semiconductor devices and bond pads. The solder mask is patterned to expose the bond pads. Solder bumps are electrically connected to the bond pads. The solder mask is thick enough to extend up to at least a quarter of the solder bumps and is in contact with the solder bumps. The wafer is then cut into individual chips. The chips may be sold to customers, who may mount the chip on a substrate without underfill.

An aerosol spray device which is capable of imparting a unipolar charge by double layer charging and charge separation to liquid droplets of a composition sprayed therefrom has a spraying head in the form of an insert in an actuator, the spraying head having a bore through which liquid is expelled having an outlet, preferably with a tortuous periphery, having an L/a ratio of at least 8 (preferably at least 10) where L is the length of the periphery defining the bore outlet in mm and a is the cross-sectional area of the bore outlet in mm2 and the apparatus being constructed such that the droplets are expelled from the spraying head at a flow ratio of at least 0.4 (preferably at least 0.5) grams per second and have a charge to mass ratio of at least +/−1×10−4 C/kg.

摘要： An apparatus used in a system for liquefying and dispensing a hot melt adhesive from a container to a substrate using an improved platen with fins to help guide the hot melt adhesive to a pump. The fins consist of primary, secondary, tertiary, and perimeter fins. The primary fins of the platen extend from the outer periphery radially inward to the center of the platen. The secondary fins are interposed between the pairs of primary fins, and the tertiary fins are interposed between each pair of primary and secondary fins. Both the secondary and tertiary fins taper to provide for a gradual pressure drop along their radial extent to provide for a better fluid flow. The perimeter fins, which are located radially inward along the outer circumference of the platen, provide for an increased surface area at the outer edges of the platen. A pair of elastomeric seals provides a fluid tight seal between the platen and the container of hot melt material. The seals are located as close to the lower portion of the platen to allow for more adhesive in the container and therefore less space at its opening.

The multi-channel transmitter includes a channel processing element (210), a plurality of radio frequency processing elements (206), and an antenna array (102). The channel processing element includes a channel processor adapted to receive a communication signal from a communication network, a splitter (216) coupled to an output of the channel processor for producing a plurality of substantially identical processed digital communication signal outputs. A plurality of gain and phase adjusters (214) in the channel processing element are coupled to the substantially identical processed digital communication signal outputs. An output of each phase and gain adjuster (214) is coupled to a plurality of up-converters (212), which each produce a digital intermediate frequency output. The plurality of radio frequency processing elements (206) are each coupled to an output of the digital up-converters (212). The radio frequency processing elements (206) each include a digital summer (224), a digital-to-analog converter (222), and a radio frequency processor (220). The antenna array has a plurality of antenna elements (104), each coupled to an output of the plurality of radio frequency processing elements (206).

摘要： Methods of allocating orthogonal resources of a wireless communication network to a user equipment (UE) that uses transmit diversity are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the UE is configured to transmit a reference symbol and a modulated symbol on multiple orthogonal resources on an antenna. The method includes: selecting, by the UE, a first and a second orthogonal resource, respectively, from a plurality of orthogonal resources according to the state of information bits to be communicated by the UE; and transmitting, by the UE, the reference and data symbols on the first and the second orthogonal resource, respectively, on one antenna. The first and the second resource are different for at least one of the states of the information bits. The first and the second resource are both in the same physical resource block.
