The dispenser is able to retain a roll containing tissue at a dispensing position until the tissue has been exhausted from the roll. The dispenser senses that the tissue is exhausted from the roll, and only then permits a reserve roll to be rotated into a dispensing position. Thus, the dispenser ensures that the tissue from each roll is used up before permitting access to a reserve roll. The invention also provides a new web material roll that utilizes a “double core”, as well as a method of making the “double core”.

Flip chips with improved solder bump strength are provided. A solder mask layer is placed and patterned on a front side of a wafer of semiconductor chips with semiconductor devices and bond pads. The solder mask is patterned to expose the bond pads. Solder bumps are electrically connected to the bond pads. The solder mask is thick enough to extend up to at least a quarter of the solder bumps and is in contact with the solder bumps. The wafer is then cut into individual chips. The chips may be sold to customers, who may mount the chip on a substrate without underfill.

An apparatus used in a system for liquefying and dispensing a hot melt adhesive from a container to a substrate using an improved platen with fins to help guide the hot melt adhesive to a pump. The fins consist of primary, secondary, tertiary, and perimeter fins. The primary fins of the platen extend from the outer periphery radially inward to the center of the platen. The secondary fins are interposed between the pairs of primary fins, and the tertiary fins are interposed between each pair of primary and secondary fins. Both the secondary and tertiary fins taper to provide for a gradual pressure drop along their radial extent to provide for a better fluid flow. The perimeter fins, which are located radially inward along the outer circumference of the platen, provide for an increased surface area at the outer edges of the platen. A pair of elastomeric seals provides a fluid tight seal between the platen and the container of hot melt material. The seals are located as close to the lower portion of the platen to allow for more adhesive in the container and therefore less space at its opening.

Methods of allocating orthogonal resources of a wireless communication network to a user equipment (UE) that uses transmit diversity are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the UE is configured to transmit a reference symbol and a modulated symbol on multiple orthogonal resources on an antenna. The method includes: selecting, by the UE, a first and a second orthogonal resource, respectively, from a plurality of orthogonal resources according to the state of information bits to be communicated by the UE; and transmitting, by the UE, the reference and data symbols on the first and the second orthogonal resource, respectively, on one antenna. The first and the second resource are different for at least one of the states of the information bits. The first and the second resource are both in the same physical resource block.
