Abstract:
A multi-functional medical device including a sheath having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending between the proximal end and the distal end. The medical device further includes an end-effector slidably disposed within the lumen. A portion of the end-effector may be configured to transition between a collapsed state while in the lumen and an expanded state while out of the lumen. Further, the end-effector may include a tool configured to dissect tissue, and a retracting member having a plurality of legs disposed about the tool.
Abstract:
A medical device for resecting tissue. The medical device is slidably disposed within a working channel of an elongate introduction sheath. The medical device includes an elongate shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The distal end of the elongate shaft may include an opening in communication with the lumen. In addition, the medical device includes a support structure having a slot extending along an inner surface of the support structure in communication with the lumen of the elongate shaft. The medical device further includes a snare loop having a first position disposed within the slot of the support structure, and a second position disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft. An actuation member is slidably disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft and is connected to the snare loop.
Abstract:
A medical device for resecting tissue. The medical device includes a catheter shaft having a proximal portion and two or more distal branch portions. The distal branch portions are moveable between a closed position, and an open position. One or more lumens extend between the proximal portion and through each distal branch portion. An actuation element extends through the lumen of each distal branch portion. A snare loop is connected to each actuation element.
Abstract:
An example method for obtaining a biopsy sample may include delivering a tumor marker to a patient, guiding a biopsy tool to a desired biopsy region within a patient's body, obtaining a biopsy sample from the desired biopsy region, removing the biopsy sample from the patient's body, and after removing the biopsy sample from the patient's body, scanning the biopsy sample to detect the presence of the tumor marker in the patient.
Abstract:
The present disclosure pertain to methods of tissue approximation of a tissue opening in a tissue wall of a body lumen. The method comprises pushing a suitable device through the tissue wall near at least one edge of the opening and pulling opposing edges of the tissue opening nearer to one another or into contact with one another. Also described are devices and kits that are useful for approximation of a tissue opening in a tissue wall of a body lumen.
Abstract:
A biopsy forceps system including a biopsy forceps tool having a first jaw and a second jaw, wherein each of the first jaw and second jaw has a cutting edge and wherein a portion of at least one of the first jaw and the second jaw has a micropatterned polymer coating thereon.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for enhanced navigation and visualization of body passages. In particular, the systems and methods of the present disclosure provide enhanced navigation through the pulmonary peripheries, and enhanced visualization within larger pulmonary passages.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for treating defects in anatomical structures are disclosed. A device may include a first portion configured to engage body tissue and a second portion extending distally from the first portion. The second portion may be elongated and configured to extend into and/or engage tissue of a defect in an anatomical structure. The device may have an expanded or deployed configuration in which at least the second portion of the device has a first diameter. The device may be configured to be adjusted to a closed configuration in which the second portion of the device has a second diameter that is reduced relative to the first diameter. The second portion of the device may include one or more tissue engaging elements configured to engage the defect such that adjusting the second portion to the reduced second diameter closes the defect.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to the field of tissue dissection. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to medical devices that lift and retract tissue during a dissection procedure to improve visualization of the target tissue and mitigate obstructions for dissection tools. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices that transition from a constrained to an unconstrained bowed configuration to immobilize and retract the dissected portion of target tissue during a dissection procedure.
