    摘要: A proposed semiconductor device is directed to making unnecessary circuit operation inactive to reduce power consumption because of leakage current. The device is functionally divided into blocks. The power supply systems of the blocks are divided into a non-controlled power supply group in which power is always on and controlled power supply groups in each of which groups a supply of power can be turned on/off independently. When a power supply system control part of the non-controlled power supply group outputs a control signal for power on, a power switch part turns on to release the controlled power supply group from the sleep mode, so that the first processing part starts intermittent operation. Only when it is determined that a first next-processing necessity determining part determines necessity of the next processing, a control signal is generated to activate the next power supply group. The blocks unnecessary for processing are not supplied with power, so that no leakage current flows and power consumption because thereof can be reduced.

    摘要: A variable compression ratio engine includes a support shaft positioned eccentrically relative to rotating shafts. A restricting projection is provided at one location in the circumferential direction on the rotating shafts so as to project outward in the radial direction. A rocker member has a pair of engagement portions with respective phases displaced from each other and which engage the restricting projection. The rocker member is spring-biased in a direction in which one of the two engagement portions engages the restricting projection and is mounted on a shaft member so as to be able to rock around the axis of the shaft member. An actuator is driven by the engine negative pressure and is connected to the rocker member so as to swing the rocker member in a direction opposite to the spring-bias direction.

With this construction, the occurrence of a wavelength spit due to a higher-order mode can be inhibited thereby stabilizing a higher power operation.

    摘要: In a self-aligned structure semiconductor laser in which a pair of optical guide layers are respectively formed on both faces of an active layer, the optical guide layers having a bandgap which is wider than that of the active layer, a pair of cladding layers are formed so as to sandwich the active layer and the optical guide layers, the cladding layers having a bandgap which is wider than bandgap of the optical guide layers, a pair of carrier blocking layers are respectively formed between the active layer and the optical guide layers, the carrier blocking layers having a bandgap which is wider than bandgaps of the active layer and the optical guide layers, and a current blocking layer having a stripe-like window is embedded in at least one of the optical guide layers, the current blocking layer is formed by selective growth. In this way, a window of a current blocking layer can be accurately formed and the fabrication yield can be improved while avoiding maleffects on other layers.

    摘要: In a side-valve internal combustion engine, a combustion chamber in a cylinder head is defined into a substantially triangular pyramid shape having a triangular opened edge. A third angle portion of the opened edge formed by a first slant having a relatively small angle and a second slant having a relatively large angle is offset from an axis of a cylinder bore toward the first slant. Thus, it is possible to a swirl of an air-fuel mixture during an intake stroke to uniformize the air-fuel ratio, thereby providing a reduction in fuel consumption, and producing a swirl of combustion gas during an expansion stroke to eliminate the non-uniformity of combustion, thereby providing an increase in power output and a reduction in amount of unburned components in the exhaust gas.

    摘要: In a link type variable stroke engine in which: a crankshaft and a rotary shaft having an eccentric shaft are each rotatably supported on a case main body formed integrally with a cylinder block and opened at one side to form a part of a crankcase, and a support plate fastened to an opened end of the case main body at a plurality of positions; and a piston, the crankshaft and the eccentric shaft are linked by a linking mechanism, in a projection view on a plane orthogonal to axes of the crankshaft and the rotary shaft, two of the plurality of fastening positions at which the support plate is fastened to the opened end of the case main body are disposed on a straight line passing the axes of the rotary shaft and the crankshaft. This configuration can increase the rigidity between the crankshaft and the rotary shaft enough to prevent change of the distance between the crankshaft and the rotary shaft.
