摘要： An elastomeric butadiene copolymer prepared by a process which comprises copolymerizing butadiene, a polyvinyl aromatic compound and optionally styrene in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of an organolithium polymerization initiator and subjecting the resulting copolymer having lithium at the polymer end or ends to a coupling reaction with a trifunctional or tetrafunctional coupling agent, said butadiene copolymer satisfying the following conditions: (a) the content of styrene is at most 50% by weight, (b) the content of vinyl bonds in the butadiene portion is from 10 to 90% by weight, (c) the molecular weight distribution curve obtained by a high performance liquid chromatography has at least three peaks, and 5 to 60% by weight of all the polymer chains have a molecular weight which is at least 5 times the molecular weight in terms of standard polystyrene corresponding to the peak appearing on the lowest molecular weight side of the high performance liquid chromatogram, and (d) the Mooney viscosity (ML.sub.1+4, 100.degree. C.) is from 30 to 200. The butadiene copolymer has an improved processability with excellent resilience, wet grip property, abrasion resistance and mechanical properties, and is suitable for tire use.

The facsimile apparatus includes a reading part for reading a document to generate an image data from the document, a library memory for storing the image data from the reading part, a calling control part for enabling the image data to be stored in the library memory and for calling out the image data from the library memory, an input part for inputting a telephone number of a receiving facsimile, and a transmitting part for transmitting the image data to a receiving facsimile, the image data being called out by the calling control part from the library memory when a specified button is depressed, and the receiving facsimile being designated by the telephone number inputted from the input part. With the facsimile apparatus of the present invention, the user can freely store any form and contents of one or more sending data in the library memory by reading a document containing the sending data and depressing a specified button so that the stored data in the library memory is transmitted to the receiving facsimile with the inputted telephone number.

摘要： In a method for shifting down a data transmission rate at a transmitter in response to a request from a receiver for retransmission of data frames having data errors in a digital transmission system such as a facsimile system, when transmission errors occur, the receiver transmits a request to the transmitter for retransmission of one or more data frames for which one or more data errors have occurred. At the transmitter, the data transmission rate is shifted down from the first data transmission rate to a second data transmission rate which is used for retransmitting the data frames for which one or more data errors have occurred. The above shift-down operation is controlled by calculating an expected value indicating a possibility of the occurrence of a data error at the time of retransmitting the data frames in which one or more data errors have occurred, on the basis of a number of data frames requested to be retransmitted and a total number of data frames which have been transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver.

C. selected from the group consisting of a butadiene homopolymer and a copolymer of butadiene and an aromatic vinyl compound, said elastomeric polymer being one prepared by a solution polymerization method and not less than 40% by weight to less than 65% by weight of the polymer chains thereof being branched polymer chains formed by coupling the polymer molecules with each other with a trifunctional or tetrafunctional coupling agent. The composition has excellent rolling resistance characteristic, wet grip characteristic, processability, tear strength and tackiness, and is suitable particularly for use in the tread portion of tires.
