摘要: A method is provided for enhancing yield of a cook-in packaged food product that includes first providing an adhering cook-in package comprising a flexible plastic container being substantially conformable to a selected food product and having an inner surface of polymeric olefin having been subjected to an adhering surface treatment in the presence of oxygen, then conforming said package about a selected food product and cooking the packaged product, whereupon said inner package surface adheres to said food product to substantially prevent cook-out of fluids therefrom.

The packaged food product may comprise a cup containing multiple ingredients in sealed pouches suitable for use in making an omelet or other egg-based entrées, with the cup being suitable for microwave cooking of an egg-based entrée. The ingredients may include vegetable components that offer organoleptic properties similar to those of fresh vegetables after an extended period of time. Ideally, time required for processing, shipment, storage, etc., which may be, e.g., several weeks, may pass without unacceptable degradation of taste, texture, mouth feel, flavor, aroma, color, nutritional content or other important qualities. In some embodiments, the ingredients may also include additional components, such as, for example, one or more meats, and/or one or more varieties of cheese.

In some examples, food with high dielectric loss factor is dispersed in a matrix of foods with low dielectric loss factors to promote uniform heating and efficient heating. In other examples, microwave susceptors are sandwiched between layers of food and attached to a handle whereby said microwave susceptors can be removed by pulling on the handle after microwave heating.

摘要: A reusable silicone food storage container includes a silicone canister having a base and at least one side extending from an outer periphery of the base such that the base and the at least one side define a compartment that has a proximal end near the base and a distal end away from the base. The distal end of the compartment includes a mating feature. A lid is removably coupled with the silicone canister configured to engage with the mating feature and to cover the storage compartment. The lid, when engaged with the mating feature, is configured to vacuum seal the silicone canister when the silicone food storage container is cooled after being heated to boil at least a portion of a food product within the storage compartment. The canister or the lid defines an opening configured to receive a utensil for prying the lid from the vacuum sealed canister.

摘要: A molded pulp base container sprayed with a barrier and a sealant layer, used as a heat-able package for on-the-go (OTG) food products is disclosed. The container by itself, in one embodiment, is used for microwave/oven heating the food contents in the container, eliminating the need for a separate susceptor or an additional package for heating. The inside surface of the container is spray coated with a food safe poly layer to create a moisture/oxygen barrier for shelf life stability. A sealant layer is directly applied on top of the barrier layer to provide hermesicity for the container. Adding a brine solution and a percentage of sodium to the finished package formulation, selectively heats the food contents of the package while keeping the package itself cool enough to handle. In another system embodiment, a condiment package is fitted to a formed top of the container.

At least one secondary container defining a secondary volume is included and has a second opening at the upper part surrounded by a second planar edge. The secondary container is introduced inside the main container, so that said first edge and said second edge are flush. At least one secondary food product is introduced inside the secondary volume, and at least one main food product is introduced inside the main volume. A perimetric seal is made between a covering film, arranged to cover said first and second openings, and said first edge, and an inner seal is made between the covering film and the second edge.
