Abstract:
A steel cord for reinforcing a high polymer material has a core formed by twisting three steel core filaments having a mutually equal diameter of 0.1 to 0.35 mm, and at least one sheath formed by twisting a plurality of steel sheath filaments having a mutually equal diameter of 0.1 to 0.35 mm and arranged around the core. The three core filaments are composed of one or two waving steel filaments each having waved portions apart from a longitudinal center line thereof, and an unwaving steel filament as a remainder. The clearances (T) between the waving steel filament and the unwaving steel filament are in a range of 0.15 to 0.6 times the diameter of the steel core filament. A sum total (M) of a mean void (m) between adjoining steel sheath filaments in each sheath is in a range of 5 to 35% of a sum total (N) of a mean center distance (n) between adjoining steel sheath filaments in each sheath.
Abstract:
A metal cord is constructed by twisting three metal filaments in the same direction, and satisfies Lmax.gtoreq.1.05d, Lmin.gtoreq.1d and Lmax/Lmin.gtoreq.1.05 (Lmax : center distance between longest separated metal filaments, Lmin : center distance between shortest separated metal filaments, d : diameter of metal filament), and has specified twisting pitch and elongation under a load of 5 kg/cord. A pneumatic tire comprises a belt composed of plural belt layers each containing the above metal cords arranged at a given inclination angle with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire.
Abstract:
A reinforcing cord for use in radial tires, conveyor belts, hoses or driving belts, includes at least one strand of metal wires twisted along the longitudinal axis of the strand. Each metal wire has a substantially rectangular cross-section defining two opposite broad sides. The wires in the strand engage one another along their broad sides and preferably are wrapped around by a wrapping wire.
Abstract:
A wire rope, and method of making same, is provided wherein the wire core is lubricated with a heavy viscous lubricant and impregnated with thermoplastic material. The wire rope strands are embedded in the thermoplastic material which holds these strands in a spaced relationship from the core and from each other.
Abstract:
A rubber-reinforcing cord of the present invention is a rubber-reinforcing cord for reinforcing a rubber product. The rubber-reinforcing cord includes at least one strand. The strand includes at least one filament bundle and a coating provided to cover at least a portion of a surface of the filament bundle. The coating includes a rubber component and a crosslinking agent. The crosslinking agent includes two or more isocyanate compounds.
Abstract:
A reinforcing cord for rubber reinforcement of the present invention that is used for reinforcing a rubber product is provided with a plurality of strands. The strand includes bundled fibers and a coating layer formed so as to cover the bundled fibers. The plurality of strands are in tight contact with one another via the coating layer. The coating layer contains a material that is crosslinkable by thermal treatment. A method of manufacturing the reinforcing cord for rubber reinforcement includes the steps of (i) forming strands that include bundled fibers and a coating layer formed so as to cover the bundled fibers, and (ii) bringing the strands into tight contact with one another via the coating layer by twisting the strands together. The coating layer contains a material that is crosslinkable by thermal treatment.
Abstract:
In an elevator rope, an inner layer rope has: an inner layer rope fiber core; a plurality of inner layer strands; and a resin inner layer rope coating body that is coated onto an outer circumference. Inner layer strands are twisted together on an outer circumference of the inner layer rope fiber core. The inner layer strands have: an inner layer strand fiber core that is disposed centrally; and a plurality of steel inner layer strand wires that are twisted together on an outer circumference of the inner layer strand fiber core. In addition, a plurality of steel outer layer strands are twisted together on an outer circumference of the inner layer rope.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to make it possible to provide a cord, in particular, a cord for reinforcing a rubber article in which rubber permeation properties are improved by coating filaments as constituents of the cord with rubber in a reliable and stable manner. The cord of the present invention is produced by, when the metal filament is guided to an extruder and extruded together with rubber from a mouthpiece of the extruder so that the metal filament is coated with the rubber, juxtaposing plural metal filaments in the mouthpiece and extruding the metal filaments together with rubber.
