    摘要: Provided is a ball joint capable of coupling a third mechanical element in a freely pivotable manner near a pivot center of a first mechanical element and a second mechanical element coupled to each other in a freely pivotable manner. The ball joint includes: a ball stud including: a shaft member configured to allow a first mechanical element to be coupled thereto; and a ball portion formed at a distal end of the shaft member; a holder including a fixing port ion configured to allow a second mechanical element to be coupled thereto, the holder being formed through casting with the ball portion being set as a core to cover a maximum diameter portion of the ball portion, the holder being configured to couple the first mechanical element and the second mechanical element in a freely pivotable manner with the ball portion defining a pivot center; and a pivot shaft that protrudes out of the holder in a direction of intersecting with the shaft member of the ball stud to define a second pivot center independently of the ball portion, and to serve as a coupling portion for a third mechanical element, the pivot shaft being integrated with the holder at the time of the casting of the holder.

    摘要: A porous media ventless thrust bearing seal is disclosed. The porous media thrust bearing may include a primary porous media thrust bearing also serving as a seal ring including porous media positioned over a plenum and a port connected to the plenum, and conductive passages for communicating pressurized fluid to the plenums through the ports of the primary ring. The porous media ventless thrust bearing may also include a treated process gas supplied to a port which is closest to the untreated process gas, at a pressure which is higher than the untreated process gas. An inert gas (or fluid in a liquid state) may be supplied to the remaining port, at a pressure which is the same as the untreated process gas. A certain amount of treated process gas may flow into the untreated process gas, and may prevent the untreated gas from entering the porous media seal.

    摘要: An induction hardened processing shaft of a part-processing apparatus and method of manufacturing includes exposing a shaft to a partial induction hardening process. An induction hardening process may be applied to only the portion of the shaft that may be exposed to processing spray or shot peening material. The portion of the shaft exposed to induction hardening will include a harder surface material that can better withstand its composition and structure during impact, minimizing or reducing the amount of wear on the surface from exposure to processing material utilized in the part-processing apparatus. By limiting the induction hardening process to less than the full length of the shaft, the shaft is less likely to experience substantial deformation, and further permits screws and fasters to be driven into the shaft to secure the shaft at specific locations with the processing apparatus.

    摘要: A driveshaft assembly includes a driveshaft tube having two ends. An end fitting is operatively connected to one of the two ends of the driveshaft tube. A torque control mechanism is operatively connected to the end fitting. The torque control mechanism includes an outer member defining a first conical surface extending circumferentially relative to a central axis. The torque control mechanism includes an inner member defining a second conical surface extending circumferentially relative to the central axis. The first conical surface is configured to be in contact with the second conical surface so as to transfer a torque load from the inner member to the outer member. The second conical surface is configured to rotate relative to the first conical surface along the central axis at a slip angle when the torque load exceeds a predefined maximum torque load.

    摘要: An add-on shaft for an electric motor, an electric motor having an add-on shaft, an add-on shaft that drives a rotary encoder and a method for connecting an add-on shaft to a motor shaft of an electric motor are disclosed. The add-on shaft has a pin that is introduced into a centered blind hole in the motor shaft of the electric motor. The pin has sections having different diameters, so that the add-on shaft is aligned coaxially with the motor shaft and fixed in the blind hole by an interference fit, but adhesive applied onto the pin is not wiped off during the joining operation. A defined adhesive gap optimal for the adhesive used is also provided.
