    摘要: Magnetoresistive sensors are commonly used for angular detection in many automotive applications. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a sensor is provided in which a first half-bridge has magnetoresistive resistors with barber-pole stripes and in which a second half-bridge has magnetoresistive resistors without barber-pole stripes. One of the resistors without barber-pole stripes is rotated with respect to the other three resistors by 90°. This may provide for an improved angle determination with reduced angular errors due to offset.

    摘要: A geomagnetic sensor includes: a core that constitutes a closed magnetic circuit; a pair of coils that are wound around the core in positions facing each other and are connected in series to generate magnetic flux in the same circumferential direction in the core; an excitation power supply that applies an alternating current with a superimposed direct current to the pair of coils; and a detection circuit that is connected to a connection point of the pair of coils. Unlike a conventional flux gate type geomagnetic sensor, it is not required to excite the core until the core is magnetically saturated, and it is therefore possible to reduce power consumption.

    摘要: A method and an electronic device for determining the direction of a magnetic field, in which a mobile electronic compass device is used to measure three field vectors of the magnetic field the desired number of times. From each measurement, a data point (p1-p6) is formed in a three-dimensional co-ordinate system, for which measured data points a common reference point (C) is calculated. The location of the device is determined relative to the reference point in said co-ordinate system and the co-ordinates of the reference point obtained are compared to the co-ordinates of at least one previous reference point, and the co-ordinate values of the reference point are calibrated, after which the direction of the magnetic field is indicated with the aid of the reference point.

    摘要: An electronic compass has a 2D magnetometer for determining two of the three components of the earth-magnetic field vector. Values for the magnitude and inclination of the field at the location of the device are given. If at least one of the body axes of the device is held horizontally in operational use, an educated guess can be made about the actual orientation of the device (e.g., heading and tilt angles) with respect to the earth. Accordingly, this compass is a very-low cost device.
