    摘要： A knitted sock has an inner layer 2 comprising a toe end 4 and an outer layer 3 comprising a toe end 7. The inner and outer toe ends are aligned and joined wale stitch to wale stitch to form a composite toe end, which is closed to provide a flat toe seam 10. The layered sock is manufactured complete in a single process being knit continuously from the inner toe end to the outer toe end. It comprises reciprocated heel and toe portions. The foot portion of the inner layer is knit from a yarn with properties such as a low coefficient of friction and/or antifungal/antibacterial properties. The low friction fiber is a fluoropolymer such as polytetrafluroethylene. The outer layer may comprise a cushion structure.

    摘要： A dry sprinkler assembly includes a housing, a sprinkler head assembly with a sprinkler head and a trigger assembly, and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly has a sealing subassembly for sealing the inlet port of the housing and is operatively coupled to the trigger assembly such that the sealing subassembly releases the sealing of the inlet port in response to the trigger assembly releasing its closure at the outlet opening. The sealing subassembly moves in a linear path substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis of the housing when releasing the sealing of the inlet port wherein the flow of fire suppressant through the inlet port and into the fluid flow passage is substantially unimpeded.

    摘要： Apparatus for stowing and deploying a plurality of control surfaces of a guided air vehicle comprises: a housing including: a plurality of slotted openings along an outside surface thereof; and a corresponding plurality of cavities within the housing, each cavity extending to the outside surface of the housing through the slotted opening corresponding thereto and configured to accommodate span wise stowage of a corresponding control surface of the plurality, and each cavity having a section including an angled ledge and side wall support surface to accommodate stowage of the corresponding control surface in a span wise canted position with respect to the corresponding slotted opening. A method of operating comprises the steps of: folding each control surface of the plurality edge wise through the corresponding slotted opening and into the corresponding cavity within the housing; moving each folded control surface into a stowage section of the corresponding cavity to edge wise mis-align each folded control surface from the corresponding slotted opening; moving each control surface in the corresponding cavity from the corresponding stowage section into edge wise alignment with the corresponding slotted opening; and deploying each control surface edge wise aligned with the corresponding slotted opening from the cavity through the corresponding slotted opening to a deployed position.

    摘要： Provided is a method for characterising a polypeptide, which method comprises the steps of; (a) optionnally reducing cysteine disulphide bridges in the polypeptide to form free thiols, and capping the free thiols; (b) cleaving the polypeptide with a sequence specific cleavage reagent to form peptide fragments; (c) optionally deactivating the cleavage reagent; (d) capping one or more ε-amino groups that are present with a lysine reactive agent; (e) analysing peptide fragments by mass spectrometry to form a mass fingerprint for the polypeptide; and (f) determining the identity of the polypeptide from the mass fingerprint.
