摘要： An electron gun includes an electron source configured to emit electrons. The electron source includes an electron emission region configured to emit the electrons and an electron emission restrictive region configured to restrict emission of the electrons. The electron emission restrictive region is located on a side surface of the electron source except an electron emission surface on a tip of the electron source and is covered with a different material from the electron source. The electron gun emits thermal field-emitted electrons by applying an electric field to the tip while maintaining a sufficiently low temperature to avoid sublimation of a material of the electron source. The material of the electron source may be lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) or cerium hexaboride (CeB6). The electron emission restrictive region may be covered with carbon.

摘要： This invention provides a lead battery that becomes usable by injecting an electrolyte thereinto. The battery includes: positive and negative electrode plates each having a grid comprising a Pb—Ca based alloy; separators that separate the positive electrode plates from the negative electrode plates; the electrolyte comprising sulfuric acid; and a battery container accommodating the positive and negative electrode plates, the separators, and the electrolyte. The battery container is sealed, and part of the positive and negative electrode plates is immersed in the electrolyte. The height Y0 of the positive and negative electrode plates and the distance Y1 from the bottom of the positive and negative electrode plates to the level of the electrolyte satisfy the relation: 15≦Y1/Y0×100≦60.

摘要： An image-forming apparatus includes an endless conveyor belt, a counter roller, and a clutch part. The endless conveyor belt is rotatable to convey paper with a surface of the conveyor belt being charged. The counter roller holds the paper between the conveyor belt and the counter roller and conveys the paper. The clutch part is caused to slip by the difference in velocity between the conveyor belt and the counter roller. The counter roller is driven through the clutch part.

摘要： An electron gun includes: an electron source; an accelerating electrode; an extraction electrode for extracting electrons from an electron emission surface of the electron source; a suppressor electrode for suppressing emission of electrons from a side surface of the electron source; and an electron beam converging unit for converging an electron beam of thermal field emission electrons emitted from the electron emission surface by applying an electric field to the electron emission surface. The electron beam converging unit is an electrostatic lens electrode which is placed between the extraction electrode and the accelerating electrode and having an opening portion in its center. A voltage is applied to the electrostatic lens electrode to converge the electron beam.

摘要： Provided is an electron beam exposure apparatus for forming a desired pattern on a sample mounted on a wafer stage by exposure with an electron beam generated form an electron gun. The electron beam exposure apparatus includes: supplying device of injecting a reducing gas into a column in which the electron gun and the wafer stage are housed; and control unit of performing control so that the injection of the reducing gas into the column is continued for a predetermined period of time. Organic contamination is combined with H generated from the reducing gas by irradiation of an electron beam, and then evaporates. Further included is supplying device of injecting an ozone gas into the column. The control unit may perform control so that the injection of the ozone gas into the column in addition to the injection of the reducing gas is continued for a predetermined period of time.

The detecting means includes: a reflective body for reflecting the electron beam selected by the selecting means; and a detector for detecting the electron beam reflected by the reflective body.

摘要： An integrated circuit with gate self-protection comprises a MOS device and a bipolar device, wherein the integrated circuit further comprises a semiconductor layer with electrically active regions in which and on which the MOS device and the bipolar device are formed and electrically inactive regions for isolating the electrically active regions from each other. The MOS device comprises a gate structure and a body contacting structure, wherein the body contacting structure is formed of a base layer deposited in a selected region over an electrically active region of the semiconductor layer, and the body contacting structure is electrically connected with the gate structure. The base layer forming the body contacting structure also forms the base of the bipolar device. The present invention further relates to a method for fabricating such an integrated circuit.
