    摘要: A rectangular nickel-metal hydride secondary cell permits improving the air-tightness and also permits preventing a metal case from being deformed in the step of folding an open end portion of the metal case. The rectangular nickel-metal hydride secondary cell, comprising a rectangular cylindrical metal case having a bottom, an electrode group housed in the metal case, an alkali electrolyte contained in the metal case, a rectangular sealing plate mounted near the open end portion of the metal case; and an insulating gasket interposed in a compressed state between the inner wall near the open end of the metal case and the sealing plate, wherein the metal case comprises a folded portion formed by inwardly folding the open end portion of the metal case and an inwardly projecting stepped portion formed along the inner surface of the metal case below the folded portion, the sealing plate is fixed to the metal case at the portion between the folded portion and the stepped portion of the metal case with the insulating gasket interposed therebetween, the folded portion at a corner portion of the open end portion of the metal case has an angle of 80.degree. to 100.degree..

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for image compression in block units, and particularly to the image editor, color equalizer and error diffuser functions thereof. According to this image compression method, processing is done in blocks of 4×4 pixels. In each block, two representative colors and two interpolated colors that are gained by linear interpolation between the two representative colors, i.e., four colors in total, are used. One of these four colors is allotted to each pixel. The image editor function directly edits the reference relationship between the representative color and the color of the pixels. The color equalizer function performs encoding by taking differences in coloring between a TV and a PC monitor in consideration, thereby reproducing images similar to colors seen by the PC user on the TV of a game machine. The error diffuser function produces a pseudo realization of colors that do not correspond to the representative and interpolated colors by mixing different colors in pixel units.

    摘要: A nickel-hydrogen secondary battery is disclosed wherein a long life is assured, an improved self-discharging property in a high temperature storage and the inhibition of increase in inner pressure of the battery in the occasion of over-charging can be realized. The nickel-hydrogen secondary battery comprises, a case, a paste-type positive electrode accommodated in the case and containing nickel hydroxide and a polymeric binder, a paste-type negative electrode accommodated in the case and containing a hydrogen-absorbing alloy and a polymeric binder, a separator accommodated in the case in so as to be interposed between the positive and negative electrodes, and an alkali electrolyte accommodated in the case. The separator is formed of a sheet material containing polyolefin-based synthetic resin fibers and has a hydrophilic first surface and a second surface having hydrophilic and hydrophobic portions, the separator is interposed between the positive and negative electrodes with the second surface facing toward the negative electrode.
