    摘要: The invention is a method and structure for use in a telephone office to translate equipment numbers of prescribed stations served by the office into their associated directory numbers. The method comprises the steps of scanning terminating calls in the office to obtain equipment numbers and the dialed directory numbers of called stations, comparing the equipment numbers of the called stations with the equipment numbers of the prescribed stations, and associating ones of the directory numbers with ones of the prescribed stations whose equipment numbers match the equipment numbers generated by the office during the terminating calls. As used in a preferred exemplary embodiment, the equipment numbers of the prescribed stations are generated by performing the additional step of scanning originating calls in the office to obtain the equipment numbers of stations originating calls of a prescribed type and compiling a list of the equipment numbers so obtained.

    摘要: A multiple link circuit for coupling a plurality of telephone lines to the ports of a port multiplexer without requiring the splitting of C-leads is disclosed. The multiple link circuit includes an internal priority determining arrangement that eliminates the need for individual links to be scanned by an address scanner. Each link of the multiple link circuit is bridge connected to a C-lead and includes: a busy detector for detecting the busy status of the C-lead; and, a control circuit for controlling the coupling of a subscriber seized telephone line to the associated port. The priority determining arrangement prevents any lower priority control circuit from coupling a seized telephone line to the associated port if any higher priority line is simultaneously attempting to be so coupled. After signal processing (performed by a signal processor connected to the port) has ended, or some other release action occurs, a port generated release signal disconnects the seizing link from the port. While any link is connected to an associated port, make-busy ground circuits forming part of each link apply false busy status information to all of the C-leads connected to the other links of the multiple link circuit. The false busy status information prevents the linefinders associated with these other links from attempting to seize the busy port via those links. Termination of the conversation flowing through one link creates a WINK signal that causes the linefinder to release the associated line, if another link is connected to the associated port at the time the conversation is terminated.

    摘要: A buffer circuit is disclosed as part of a centralized subsystem in a telephone switching system. The subsystem performs all functions heretofore performed by individual originating registers and communicates with office pretranslators for effecting digit pretranslation. The buffer circuit interfaces a computer of the subsystem with a conventional pretranslator connector for obtaining access to the office pretranslators preferentially over originating registers which are competing for the pretranslators. In response to a single call, the buffer applies a bid for service to each of a plurality of pretranslator connector subgroups in contrast with a bid to a single subgroup from each originating register. In the event the computer receives overlapping calls, the buffer circuit holds the multiple bids for service to preserve their priority status in the queues of the connector subgroups.

    摘要: A multilink nodal switching network is disclosed which permits heavy traffic among a plurality of equi-interconnectible switching nodes. Circuitry for busy-testing, for marking idle links and for steering crosspoint operating potential to a selected idle link in a designated direction is shown. The multilink nodal network is a higher traffic carrying version of the single link nodal switching network of my prior patent application Ser. No. 393,595 filed Aug. 31, 1973. A link marking potential is applied at the given node to which the connection has reached, a next node in the direction of the called node is ascertained and a group of its links lying in the direction of the given node are busy tested. A crosspoint operating potential is steered to a first idle one of the tested links at the next node and, in cooperation with the marking potential, operates a crosspoint at the given node. After the crosspoint operates at the given node the link marking potential replaces the crosspoint operating potential at the next node.

    摘要: A pulse transmitter is coupled to the transmission line through a pulse transformer, and at the end of a produced pulse, there occurs in the transformer a reverse voltage peak due to the fact that the magnetizing transformer current does not instantaneously vary when switched. The magnetizing current decreases and must be nulled before the generation of the next pulse. According to the invention, the reverse peak is utilized for accelerating such a magnetic current decrease, by diminishing the transformer damping.
