    摘要: A magnetic recording medium is provided with a first magnetic layer, a nonmagnetic coupling layer provided on the first magnetic layer, and a second magnetic layer provided on the nonmagnetic coupling layer. The first and second magnetic layers are exchange-coupled, and have magnetization directions which are mutually parallel in a state where no external magnetic field is applied thereto, and the first magnetic layer switches the magnetization direction thereof before the second magnetic layer in response to a recording magnetic field which switches the magnetization directions of the first and second magnetic layers.

    摘要: The invention relates to a plate for producing housings and/or lids for button cell batteries, comprising a core layer of steel, a copper or nickel clad top layer at one side of the core layer and a nickel top layer at the other side of the core layer. The invention is characterized in that the nickel top layer has been applied by depositing the nickel and in that the core layer has a thickness from 0.10 to 0.5 mm. The invention also relates to a housing and lid for a button cell battery fabricated form such a plate, and to a process for manufacturing such a plate.

    摘要: An intermetallic composition suitable for use as an environmentally-protective coating on surfaces of components used in hostile thermal environments, including the turbine, combustor and augmentor sections of a gas turbine engine. The coating contains the gamma-prime (Ni3Al) nickel aluminide intermetallic phase and either the beta (NiAl) nickel aluminide intermetallic phase or the gamma solid solution phase. The coating has an average aluminum content of 14 to 30 atomic percent and an average platinum-group metal content of at least 1 to less than 10 atomic percent, the balance of the coating being nickel, one or more of chromium, silicon, tantalum, and cobalt, optionally one or more of hafnium, yttrium, zirconium, lanthanum, and cerium, and incidental impurities.

    摘要: A clad pipe includes an external layer and a coating layer made of Ni base anticorrosion alloy. Both end portion areas of the coating layer are formed by a build-up welded layer (Ni base alloy of composition 1) on the inner surface of the external layer. Other areas are formed by a Ni base alloy layer (Ni base alloy of composition 2) fusion-bonded to the build-up welded layers and the inner surface of the pipe, a solidus-curve temperature of the Ni base alloy layer being 1300° C. or below and lower than a solidus-curve temperature of the Ni base alloy formed by build-up welding by 150° C. or more. Composition 1 and composition 2 are adjusted so that, in the same environment, corrosion resistance of the Ni base alloy of composition 1 is equivalent to or superior to that of the Ni base alloy of composition 2.

    摘要: A method of bonding a stainless steel part to a titanium part by heating a component assembly comprised of the titanium part, the stainless steel part, and a compact titanium-nickel filler material placed between the two parts and heated at a temperature that is less than the melting point of either the stainless steel part or the titanium part. The compact filler material is made of particles, preferably spheres, of discrete layers of nickel and titanium metal that react with each other and with the stainless and titanium parts to form a strong assembly when thermally processed. The component assembly is held in intimate contact at temperature in a non-reactive atmosphere for a sufficient time to develop a hermetic and strong bond between the stainless steel part and the titanium part.

New grain boundaries (34) are preferably produced by causing the overlay coating (24) to recrystallize during coating deposition or after deposition as a result of a surface treatment followed by heat treatment.
