Abstract:
A restraining system for knee protection in a motor vehicle having a safety belt system includes an element which deforms plastically upon impact of a vehicle occupant's knees. The element can be transferred by means of a servo drive from a comfortable remote-from-the-knee position into a securable, restraining close-to-the-knee position. The restraining system permits the largest degree of freedom of movement for the vehicle occupant given specific peripheral conditions or prevents the vehicle occupants slipping away towards the foot space of the vehicle. The signal for transferring the knee protection into its close-to-the-knee position in the driving mode occurs by a device triggered in the event of the non-use of a three-point safety belt system.
Abstract:
A contact member for electrical conductors, in particular for cable wires of telecommunication systems, comprises two electrically conductive contact sections forming a contact slot, in order to simplify and make less costly manufacture and assembly of the components including the contact members, the contact section are formed from an insulating material and are provided with metallized contact surfaces.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and to apparatus for crushing brittle material for grinding using a material bed roll mill, in which at least a proportion of the branch stream returned to the roll gap is dried to such an extent that a mixed moisture content which lies below a critical moisture content is produced in the roll gap. In this way it is possible even for material for grinding which has a high moisture content and above a critical moisture value has a tendency to sticking and/or caking on to be crushed satisfactorily.
Abstract:
In the illustrative embodiment of the invention as described an engine bonnet is articulated to the framework of a motor car. A gas spring is articulated to both the framework and the bonnet. The gas spring balances part of the weight of the bonnet when the bonnet is to be opened by hand. In case of an accident the framework and/or the bonnet may be crushed in longitudinal direction of the car. In such case the piston rod of the gas spring is pushed inward of the cylinder beyond the normal innermost operational position and a retaining device becomes effective so as to prevent the piston rod from returning towards its outermost operational position.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and to apparatus for the crushing of material to be comminuted by means of a material bed roll mill, in which such material is forcibly delivered in a regulable mass flow to the roll gap. In this way even materials which tend to slip on the rolls can be crushed satisfactorily. It is also possible to keep the nature of the product constant over a wide range of variations in the throughput.
Abstract:
A pulse-inverter, especially a transistor inverter, is required to generate a system of polyphase output voltages as symmetrical as possible, having, for instance, trapezoidal waveforms. For this purpose, several reference voltages having different waveforms are generated wherein each section of an output voltage coincides with a section of a reference voltage. These reference voltages are pulse-width-modulated with a high-frequency sampling frequency and an inverted sampling frequency to form pulse width modulated reference voltages and pulse width modulated inverted reference voltages, respectively. The pulse-width-modulated reference voltages and pulse width modulated inverted reference voltages are coupled to the control lines of the inverter switches so as to generate, section by section, the output voltages having the reference waveform. All reference voltages and components used for generating the driving signal for one inverter output are also used for generating the driving signals of the other outputs so that a symmetrical system of driving voltages is produced without costly adjustments.
Abstract:
An apparatus for delivery and removal of mandrel rods for use with rolling mills. A plurality of rocking levers are arranged one behind the other in the direction of rolling and are pivotable into upper and lower positions. Free ends of the levers are provided receivers for receiving the mandrel rod. The pivot or rocking levers are two-armed angle levers which are slidably mounted in two different positions such that in the first position the receivers on the angle levers are maintained in the vertical projection through the rolling axis and in the other position are offset from such vertical projection.
