At least one of the first wall and the second wall include an extension extending proximally from the proximal face along the longitudinal axis, the extension having a distal end integral with the proximal face and a proximal end including a first locking part configured for fixation with a second locking part of an instrument. A bone penetrating member has a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the bone penetrating member being connected with the distal end of the receiver.

    摘要: A spinal rod system includes a first rod and a second rod engaged to a connector with the first and second rods extending axially therefrom in opposite directions from one another. The connector is mountable to a mounting anchor and securable thereto with an engaging member. The connector secures the first rod in the mounting anchor and the connector is clampingly engaged between the engaging member and the first rod. The second rod is engageable in a receiving portion of the connector adjacent to the mounting anchor.

    摘要: A side-loading bone anchor is provided, which may be used in cervical, thoracic, lumbar or sacral areas of the spine or other orthopedic locations. In one embodiment, the anchor includes an anchoring portion, a receiving portion, and an internal piece that is rotatable with respect to the receiving portion at least to a degree. The anchoring portion is attached to a bone. A rod or other elongated support member is received in the receiving portion in contact with the internal piece. The rod and internal piece may be rotated for variability substantially in a plane, and a set screw is threaded into the receiving portion to lock the rod within the receiving portion.
