Abstract:
A powder molded product produced through molding of a slurry containing a powdery molding raw material, a dispersion medium for dispersing the molding raw material, a dispersant for uniformly dispersing the molding raw material in the dispersion medium, a binder precursor for producing an organic binder through a chemical reaction, a reaction promoter for promoting the chemical reaction, and a pseudo-plasticity-imparting agent for imparting pseudo-plasticity to the slurry. The method for producing a powder molded product of the present invention includes a slurry preparation step; a molding step of molding the prepared slurry into a primary molded product having a specific shape; and a drying-solidification step of solidifying the slurry by promoting the aforementioned chemical reaction in the primary molded product, and removing, through evaporation, the dispersion medium from the primary molded product.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to coating compositions containing a polymeric or copolymeric levelling agent, which has been prepared by nitroxyl-mediated polymerisation. Further aspects are a process for the preparation of smooth surface coatings and the use of said polymer or copolymer as levelling agent in coating compositions. Yet another aspect are specific ethylenically unsaturated monomer compositions from which copolymers can be obtained by atom transfer radical polymerisation or nitroxyl mediated polymerisation, which copolymers are useful as levelling agents in coating compositions. Still another aspect is the use of poly-tert.-butyl acrylate or poly-tert.butylmethacrylate as a levelling agent in powder coating compositions.
Abstract:
The invention provides polyester polymers suitable for production of monolayer and multilayer preforms and containers by a process of injection molding or co-injection molding and stretch blow molding technology for monolayer and multilayer containers. Containers of the invention not only have adequate CO2 barriers, but also have adequate O2 and UV barriers, high thermal stability, and burst strength to withstand tunnel pasteurization processes at about 60° C. for 20-30 minutes at 10 bar CO2 pressure for beer applications. There will further be no limitations due to humidity in respect of processing the resin/preforms and storage of preforms beyond what is required for normal PET. The polymers of the invention do not possess tie layer nor delamination problems and satisfy recycling criteria.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an adhesive composition containing (a) an elastomer block copolymer having a diblock portion greater than 40%, preferably greater than 55%, more preferably greater than 70%, (b) a sulphonated, especially branched copolyester and (c) optionally, additional additives, such as tackifiers and/or softeners and/or stabilisers. The inventive adhesive compositions have advantages, particularly, based on high wet-peel strength.
Abstract:
An aqueous amino resin dispersion excelling in storage stability and mechanical stability which is formed by dispersing hydrophobic amino resin in aqueous medium, using a polyester resin having specific hydroxyl value, acid value and number-average molecular weight as a dispersion stabilizer, said polyester resin being prepared by reacting polyhydric alcohol, polycarboxylic acid and/or polycarboxylic anhydride and monoepoxide compound having a long chain hydrocarbon group; thermosetting, water-based paint compositions comprising the aqueous amino resin dispersion; and multi-layered coating film-forming methods using the water-based paint compositions are provided.
Abstract:
Polymeric composites and methods of manufacturing polymeric composites are described. In one embodiment, a set of microcapsules containing a phase change material are mixed with a dispersing polymeric material to form a first blend. The dispersing polymeric material has a latent heat of at least 40 J/g and a transition temperature in the range of 0° C. to 50° C. The first blend is processed to form a polymeric composite. The polymeric composite can be formed in a variety of shapes, such as pellets, fibers, flakes, sheets, films, rods, and so forth. The polymeric composite can be used as is or incorporated in various articles where a thermal regulating property is desired.

Abstract:
The present invention provides an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester film excellent in the adhesion property to a substrate. Such film is obtained by an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester film obtained by casting an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester solution composition containing a solvent containing a halogen-substituted phenol defined by the following general formula (I): (wherein A is a halogen atom or a trihalomethyl group; i is an integer of 1 to 5; and in the case i is 2 or higher, the respective A may be the same or different), an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester, and a non-liquid crystalline resin at ratio of 1 to 200 parts by weight of the non-liquid crystalline resin to 100 parts by weight of the aromatic liquid crystalline polyester on a substrate; and removing the solvent.)
