摘要: A cloud based identity management system that handles a plurality of published events that are published and consumed by microservices provides a dynamic queue that includes one or more active queues and one or more inactive queues. Embodiments create selectors for all of the active queues and the inactive queues and binds subscribers to each active queue. Embodiments dynamically cause at least one of the inactive queues to become one of the active queues when a number of published events increases.

摘要: A method and associated systems use DVFS performance-scaling technology to satisfy quality-of-service performance requirements when recovering a job that had been scheduled to run on a failed virtual machine. A Buffer Time specifies a duration of time remaining, at the time of failure, for the job to complete in order to satisfy the quality-of-service requirements. Depending on relative durations of time required to repair the failed virtual machine, to perform the job on an unsealed active-mode virtual machine, and to transfer the job to another virtual machine, the system determines whether to repair the failed virtual machine or to transfer the job. If the latter, the system then determines whether to select a destination virtual machine provisioned on a DVFS-compliant platform and, if so, the system scales the DVFS-compliant platform's performance to a level sufficient to complete the job within the Buffer Time.

摘要: Processing within a computing environment that supports pageable guests is facilitated. Processing is facilitated in many ways, including, but not limited to, associating guest and host state information with guest blocks of storage; maintaining the state information in control blocks in host memory; enabling the changing of states; and using the state information in management decisions. In one particular example, the guest state includes an indication of usefulness and importance of memory contents to the guest, and the host state reflects the ease of access to memory contents. The host and guest state information is used in managing memory of the host and/or guests.

摘要: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to an auto-scaling software-defined monitoring (“SDM”) platform for software-defined networking (“SDN”) service assurance. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, an SDM controller can monitor event data associated with a network event that occurred within a virtualized IP SDN network that is monitored by a virtualized SDM resources platform. The SDM controller can measure, based upon the event data, a quality of service (“QoS”) performance metric associated with the virtualized SDM resource platform. The SDN controller can determine, based upon the QoS performance metric, whether an auto-scaling operation is to be performed. The auto-scaling operation can include reconfiguring the virtualized SDM resources platform by adding virtual machine capacity for supporting event management tasks either by instantiating a new virtual machine or by migrating an existing virtual machine to a new hardware host.

摘要: A system and method for enabling hot-plugging of devices in virtualized systems. A hypervisor obtains respective values representing respective quantities of a resource for a plurality of virtual root buses of a virtual machine (VM). The hypervisor determines a first set of address ranges of the resource that are allocated for one or more virtual devices attached to at least one of the plurality of virtual root buses. The hypervisor determines, in view of the first set of allocated address ranges, a second set of address ranges of the resource available for attaching one or more additional virtual devices to at least one of the plurality of virtual root buses. The hypervisor assigns to the plurality of virtual root buses non-overlapping respective address ranges of the resource within the second set.

摘要: Methods and systems for identifying a set of disks within a cluster and then storing a plurality of data chunks into the set of disks such that the placement of the plurality of data chunks within the cluster optimizes failure tolerance and storage system performance for the cluster are described. The plurality of data chunks may be generated using replication of data (e.g., n-way mirroring) or application of erasure coding to the data (e.g., using a Reed-Solomon code or a Low-Density Parity-Check code). The topology of the cluster including the physical arrangement of the nodes and disks within the cluster and status information for the nodes and disks within the cluster (e.g., information regarding disk fullness, disk performance, and disk age) may be used to identify the set of disks in which to store the plurality of data chunks.

摘要: A method and device for forwarding a packet are disclosed. When a first access device connected with a database server is to be configured with a mirror image rule, an SDN controller can transmit a mirror image rule adding message carrying the mirror image rule to the first access device. Where, the mirror image rule comprises an IP address of the database server, a MAC address of a database audit device connected with a second access device and a VXLAN tunnel between the first access device and the second access device. When receiving a database access packet whose destination IP address is an IP address of the database server, the first access device may replace a destination MAC address of a mirror packet for the database access packet with a MAC address of the database audit device according to the mirror image rule and forward the encapsulated VXLAN packet.

摘要: A hybrid account logon is disclosed for logging into remote desktops. In one embodiment, the hybrid logon combines local and domain accounts by building a local primary access token which provides credentials for local and domain-based accounts. In one embodiment, a credentials provider creates a serialized structure including both local account information and domain credentials and sends the serialized structure to a logon user interface (UI) process. The logon UI process calls a user authentication service that itself calls a hybrid authentication package which performs a domain logon, discards any identity associated with the domain logon session, and builds a local identity for the local account. The user authentication service then generates a primary access token including the local identity and the domain logon session data, thereby supporting interactive logon based on the local user identity which is also linked to network credentials for use in accessing network resources.
