摘要: A method of resizing a block storage volume for a virtual machine includes executing the virtual machine and attaching a virtual storage device to the virtual machine. The virtual storage device exposes the block storage volume on memory hardware to the virtual machine. The block storage volume includes a first storage capacity. The method also includes mounting the block storage volume to the virtual machine and resizing the block storage volume while the virtual machine continues to execute. The block storage volume is resized without attaching an additional virtual storage device to the virtual machine or mounting an additional block storage volume to the virtual machine.

摘要: A computing system includes a DPU subsystem coupled to a host subsystem. The DPU subsystem receives an instruction to provide a service, and determines a host operating load of the host subsystem and a DPU operating load of the DPU subsystem during subsequent time periods. Based on the host operating load and/or the DPU operating load during a first time period, the DPU subsystem configures the DPU subsystem to provide the service, and performs service requests for the service from client system(s). Based on the host operating load and/or the DPU operating load during a second time period that is subsequent to the first time period, the DPU subsystem configures the host subsystem to provide the service in order to migrate the service from the DPU subsystem to the host subsystem, and proxies service requests for the service between the client system(s) and the host subsystem providing the service.

摘要: An example virtualized computing system includes: a host cluster having a virtualization layer directly executing on hardware platforms of hosts, the virtualization layer supporting execution of virtual machines (VMs), the VMs including pod VMs and native VMs, the pod VMs including container engines supporting execution of containers in the pod VMs, the native VMs including applications executing on guest operating systems; an orchestration control plane integrated with the virtualization layer and including a master server and native VM controllers, the master server managing lifecycles of the pod VMs and the native VMs; and management agents, executing in the native VMs, configured to receive decoupled information from the master server through the native VM controllers and to provide the decoupled information for consumption by the applications executing in the native VMs, the decoupled information including at least one of configuration information and secret information.

摘要: A device includes one or more processors and one or more parallel accelerated processors. Additionally, a system management unit is configured to monitor the one or more parallel accelerated processors and to obtain one or more power management metrics for a parallel accelerated processor. A host driver included in the device is configured to receive a guest request for one or more power management metrics of the parallel accelerated processor from a virtual function of a virtual machine executing on the device, to transmit a host request for the one or more power management metrics from the host driver to the system management unit in response to receiving the guest request, to receive the one or more power management metrics from the system management unit at the host driver, and to transmit the one or more power management metrics from the host driver to the virtual machine.

摘要: A diagnostics collection script is included in a container image. When an original instance of the container fails, a new instance of the container is started using the container image using a Docker compose YAML file having the diagnostics collection script as an entrypoint. The diagnostics collection script is configured to collect the logs of the original (now failed) container during the container start operation. In this manner, the container is able to be started in a safe mode and is isolated to only run the diagnostics collection script without disturbing the container's original settings. By recreating the exact environment of the failed container, and running diagnostics on the environment, it is possible to obtain the log files from the original container as well as to implement diagnostic operations on the environment of the original container, which can then be used to help diagnose why the original container failed.
